A beautifully soft Italian sport-weight tweed yarn with gentle rustic character and modern comfort. ALISON TWEED knits up easily, blooms after washing, and transforms from a slightly open fabric into a cozy, felt-like surface with refined texture — perfect for sweaters, cardigans, and everyday luxury pieces.

⌁ Texture & Feel
Very soft (8.5–9 out of 10), smooth, and pleasantly structured with a light tweed effect. The fabric feels gentle on the skin, with enough body to hold shape while remaining comfortable and cozy. Ideal for garments that should feel both refined and relaxed.
➤ Knitting Notes & Sample Experience
The sample was knitted in one strand on US 6 needles. Before washing, the fabric was slightly see-through. After washing, the yarn expanded and created a denser, felt-like fabric with beautiful texture and bloom.
The yarn is easy to work with and transforms impressively after blocking. For a softer, more relaxed fabric, I recommend using larger needles, such as US 8.
✧ Recommended Uses

⋔ Blending Recommendations
Pairs well with:
• Silk — adds drape and subtle sheen
• Extra Fine Merino — enhances structure and stitch definition
• Mohair/Silk — adds halo and loft
• Alpaca — deepens softness and warmth

Formats: Balls (BY DEFAULT) or Cones (PLEASE PURCHASE)
⚑ FOR FULL-CONE SALES, THERE IS NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE FOR THE CONE. Yarn will remain on its original cone.
⚑ FOR YARN THAT IS NOT SOLD AS A FULL CONE BUT IN VARIOUS WOUND WEIGHTS, ALL YARN WILL BE WOUND INTO BALLS BY DEFAULT. CONES ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE YARN PRICE. However, we can wind it onto cones upon request. Cones may be purchased separately if you prefer continuous yardage for machine knitting or multi-strand projects. One color is typically wound per cone to maintain consistency.
PLEACE BUY CONES HERE
Unlike other shops where cone costs are often built into the yarn price—regardless of the format—our pricing is transparent. You pay only for the yarn itself. If you’d like your order wound on a cone, it can be purchased separately. This small additional charge also helps cover packaging differences and the actual cost of the cone. No hidden fees, no inflated markups—just honest, straightforward pricing.
Please Note
Please Note
- Please keep in mind: cone yarns, especially those made with extra fine merino or cashmere, may include a protective coating used for industrial knitting. A few gentle washes will allow the yarn to bloom, soften, and reveal its natural texture.
- Colors are photographed in natural light but may appear slightly different depending on your screen.
- FOR YARN THAT IS CUSTOM-WOUND, ±1–2g variation per 100g may occur due to winding.
- Each ball/cone is wound with care and packed securely to ensure it reaches you in perfect condition.
