A refined luxury yarn with natural texture and elegance ✨ – FBSILK – TWEED by Filati Buratti, Italy, is a sport-weight blend of bourette silk and viscose. The bourette silk creates a soft, nubby tweed effect, while the viscose adds a delicate sheen, resulting in a yarn that’s both rustic and refined—perfect for lightweight garments and accessories.

📍ALL PURCHASED YARN IS WOUND INTO BALLS BY DEFAULT. HOWEVER, WE CAN WIND IT ONTO CONES UPON REQUEST.

YOU CAN BUY CONES HERE – HERE

📍Please note:  CONES ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE YARN PRICE.
Unlike other shops where cone costs are often built into the yarn price—regardless of the format—our pricing is transparent. You pay only for the yarn itself. If you’d like your order wound on a cone, please add it separately. This small additional charge also helps cover the shipping cost associated with different packaging sizes and the self-cost of the cone. No hidden fees, no inflated markups—just honest, straightforward pricing.

Texture & Feel:
Softly textured with a natural tweed effect. The bourette silk offers a gentle, rustic touch with subtle neps, while the viscose brings light sheen and drape, making it comfortable for warm-weather wear.

🧶 Recommended Uses:
Perfect for sweaters, shawls, summer tops, scarves, hats, baby garments, and skirts—especially when you want a breathable yet elegant fabric.

💡 Tips & Recommendations:
Ideal for both knitting and crochet. For best drape in garments, consider using slightly larger needles or hooks than usual for sport-weight yarns.

🧷 Recommended Needles/Hooks:
• Knitting: 3.0–3.75 mm (US 2.5–5)
• Crochet: 3.0–4.0 mm (US D–G)

🧵 Weaving Suitability:
Suitable for weft; not recommended for warp without reinforcement.

📏 Recommended Yarn Usage:
• Short-Sleeve Top: 250–350g (750–1050 m / 820–1150 yd)
• Long-Sleeve Sweater: 400–550g (1200–1650 m / 1312–1803 yd)
• Shawl/Wrap: 200–300g (600–900 m / 656–984 yd)
• Baby Set: 150g (450 m / 492 yd)

🫧 Care Instructions:
• Hand wash gently in cold water with mild detergent
• Do not wring or twist
• Lay flat to dry out of direct sunlight
📍Please note: Most of the yarn that is prepared on cones for machine knitting is lightly waxed so it will run well in the machine. Once knit, it needs to be washed several times before you can feel how soft it is.
