⌁ Texture & Feel
AURORA features a soft, airy structure with a fine, elegant halo. The Superkid Mohair provides lightweight warmth and an ethereal glow, while polyamide adds stability and durability. Extra Fine Merino contributes a touch of softness and body. After washing, the yarn blooms beautifully, creating a warm, cloud-like fabric that feels gentle and luxurious against the skin.
➤ Recommended Uses
Perfect for:
• Lace sweaters and cardigans
• Shawls, wraps, and lightweight scarves
• Layering pieces with airy comfort
• Holding together with merino, cashmere, silk, or alpaca for extra volume
• Delicate accessories with soft halo and elegant drape
✧ Blending Recommendations
Pairs beautifully with:
• Silk — increases drape and luminosity
• Merino — adds structure and gentle elasticity
• Cashmere — enhances softness and warmth
• Alpaca — adds loft and fuller body
• Mohair/Silk blends — intensifies halo and airy elegance
Can be used single for ultra-lightweight fabrics, or combined with another fine yarn to add depth and stability.
⋔ Recommended Needles & Hooks
Single Strand: 2.0–3.0 mm (US 0–2.5)
Held Double: 3.0–4.0 mm (US 2.5–6)
Crochet Hooks: 2.0–3.5 mm depending on strand count and fabric density
⫯ Estimated Yarn Usage
• Sweater (Size M): 150–250 g
• Cardigan: 200–300 g
• Shawl / Wrap: 80–150 g
• Scarf: 50–120 g
• Accessories: 30–60 g
Usage may vary depending on strand count and desired drape.
⟳ Weaving Recommendations
AURORA performs beautifully as weft in airy, lightweight woven fabrics. Its mohair halo gives textiles a soft, glowing surface and gentle drape.
• Single strand — creates extremely light, open, ethereal cloth
• Double strands — fuller, softly haloed fabric with better stability
• Blending with silk or fine merino warps — recommended for structure
• Works best paired with strong, smooth fibers in the warp (silk, merino, tightly spun wool)
Suggested Sett (EPI): 8–14, depending on strand count and desired openness.
Not recommended for warp unless reinforced with a stronger companion yarn due to mohair’s delicate, airy structure.
⚑ Care Instructions
• Hand wash gently in cold water
• Use mild wool detergent
• Do not wring; press out excess water gently
• Lay flat to dry and reshape while damp
• Mohair halo softens and blooms after washing
Formats: Balls (BY DEFAULT) or Cones (PLEASE PURCHASE)
Formats: Balls (BY DEFAULT) or Cones (PLEASE PURCHASE)
⚑ FOR FULL-CONE SALES, THERE IS NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE FOR THE CONE. Yarn will remain on its original cone.
⚑ FOR YARN THAT IS NOT SOLD AS A FULL CONE BUT IN VARIOUS WOUND WEIGHTS, ALL YARN WILL BE WOUND INTO BALLS BY DEFAULT. CONES ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE YARN PRICE. However, we can wind it onto cones upon request. Cones may be purchased separately if you prefer continuous yardage for machine knitting or multi-strand projects. One color is typically wound per cone to maintain consistency.
PLEACE BUY CONES HERE
Unlike other shops where cone costs are often built into the yarn price—regardless of the format—our pricing is transparent. You pay only for the yarn itself. If you’d like your order wound on a cone, it can be purchased separately. This small additional charge also helps cover packaging differences and the actual cost of the cone. No hidden fees, no inflated markups—just honest, straightforward pricing.
Please Note
Please Note
- Please keep in mind: cone yarns, especially those made with extra fine merino or cashmere, may include a protective coating used for industrial knitting. A few gentle washes will allow the yarn to bloom, soften, and reveal its natural texture.
- Colors are photographed in natural light but may appear slightly different depending on your screen.
- FOR YARN THAT IS CUSTOM-WOUND, ±1–2g variation per 100g may occur due to winding.
- Each ball/cone is wound with care and packed securely to ensure it reaches you in perfect condition.
