Ultra-fine Japanese elastic support thread on a full cone — soft, super stretchy, incredibly fine, and sourced from a rare Italian deadstock delivery with strong high-end fashion production indicators.

This 80D nylon/polyurethane support thread is designed to be carried alongside your main yarn or used in sewing applications where you want better recovery, subtle elasticity, and longer-lasting shape. It helps cuffs, collars, ribbing, sock tops, edges, waistlines, and other high-stress areas hold their form better without adding noticeable bulk.

This Japanese spandex elastane thread is ideal when you want a project to feel more secure, more resilient, and more professionally finished. Use it with wool, merino, cotton, silk, linen, alpaca, cashmere blends, or other fine yarns to add gentle elasticity and structure while keeping the look of your main yarn beautifully visible.

✧ Luxury Fashion-House Deadstock Note

Some cones from this batch include internal manufacturing and production labels referencing Louis Vuitton production information, while others include runway or seasonal production tags such as “PAIMA FALL SHOW” and additional industrial manufacturing codes.

Most cones do not include these labels; however, the entire stock delivery was purchased together from the same Italian deadstock/stock-market source and received as one batch. Because this thread was acquired through mill overstock channels, I cannot officially confirm the original production use of every cone, and my supplier is not authorized to disclose proprietary sourcing details.

Based on the internal labels found throughout this stock, there is a strong possibility that this thread originated from high-end luxury fashion-house or runway-production sourcing.

This information is shared strictly for transparency and background only. This listing is for the Japanese elastic support thread itself, not for any branded fashion-house item.

✦ WHOLE CONE FORMAT — Japanese Spandex Elastane Thread

This listing is for one original cone of ultra-fine Japanese elastic thread, sold as is on the original cone without rewinding. The yarn is a super-fine lace-weight elastic thread, and the weight of each cone may vary. Based on the 80D count, an approximately 200g net yarn weight provides about 22,500 meters / 24,600 yards of thread. This is a very generous quantity, suitable for multiple projects, sock knitting reinforcement, elastic edging, sewing, or long-term studio use.

✧ Why This Thread Is So Useful
This is not a regular yarn for standalone fabric knitting. It is a companion thread designed to work together with another yarn or fabric area that needs support. Because it is so fine, it adds stretch, recovery, and reinforcement without changing the overall look and feel of your project too much.

It is especially useful in places where garments tend to loosen over time or where you want extra resilience without bulk.

➤ Best Uses for Knitting & Sewing
⟳ Carry together with your main yarn to add subtle elasticity and support
⚑ Improve recovery in cuffs, collars, ribbing, hems, and edges
⌁ Use in sock tops, undergarments, waistlines, shaping zones, and fitted details
⋔ Reinforce areas that need more stretch and shape retention
✧ Add low-bulk structural support to lightweight or luxury yarn projects

✦ Recommended Pairings From iDOKNiT
This thread pairs beautifully with merino, cashmere blends, silk, cotton, linen, alpaca, and other fine luxury yarns when you want better bounce, cleaner edges, or more dependable shape retention. It is especially helpful with softer yarns that may relax with wear.

✧ Important Note About Cones & Appearance
All elastane threads in my shop are manufactured in Japan and may be wound on different colored plastic cones. Cone appearance may vary slightly depending on the batch, but the fiber content, stretch, texture, and performance remain the same. There is no difference in quality between cone colors.

⌁ Please Note
Because this is an ultra-fine 80D elastic support thread, it is not intended for standalone hand knitting. It is best used together with another yarn or in sewing applications where discreet elasticity and recovery are needed.

⚑ Care Instructions
For finished items made with this thread, follow the care recommendations of your main yarn. Gentle care is recommended, and it is best to avoid excessive heat when working with elastic support fibers.
