➤ My First Impressions
One of the biggest surprises with this yarn is how incredibly soft it feels. Many metallic yarns are stiff or scratchy, but this French Lurex has a completely different character. It is delicate, flexible, and pleasant to handle, making it easy to knit together with virtually any luxury fiber.

Because it is extremely fine, I do not recommend using it alone for hand knitting. Instead, use one strand together with your favorite yarn to introduce a refined metallic glow without changing the fabric dramatically. It adds elegance rather than overwhelming sparkle.

The shimmer is sophisticated rather than flashy. The viscose softens the metallic effect beautifully, creating fabrics that catch the light naturally while remaining luxurious and wearable.

✦ Texture & Feel:
Exceptionally fine, lightweight, smooth, and flexible with a refined metallic sheen. Soft viscose balances the Lurex beautifully, creating elegant sparkle without stiffness or excessive shine.

The yarn adds subtle brilliance, beautiful movement, and designer character while preserving the softness and drape of companion fibers.

➤ Recommended Uses:
Perfect as a companion yarn for sweaters, cardigans, shawls, scarves, wraps, evening garments, holiday knitwear, lace accessories, luxury weaving, embroidery, machine knitting, trims, decorative details, and designer textiles.

✧ Tips & Recommendations:
This yarn is designed primarily as a companion yarn rather than a standalone knitting yarn.

• Hold one strand together with merino, cashmere, silk, linen, cotton, mohair, or alpaca.
• Add elegant shimmer without significantly changing gauge.
• Perfect for creating sophisticated evening garments and luxury accessories.
• Always knit and wash a swatch before beginning your project.

➤ Recommended Needles/Hooks:
• Companion yarn only for hand knitting
• Use with your primary yarn and corresponding needle size
• Suitable for machine knitting
• Excellent for weaving and decorative embroidery

➤ Weaving Suitability:
Excellent for weaving. This ultra-fine metallic yarn can be used as both warp and weft for decorative effects, borders, scarves, shawls, and luxury fabrics. It adds elegant highlights while maintaining excellent flexibility and beautiful drape.

⋔ Recommended Yarn Usage:
Because this yarn is typically held together with another yarn, actual usage varies considerably.

Approximate requirements as a companion yarn:

• Sweater: 20–40g
• Cardigan: 25–50g
• Shawl: 15–30g
• Scarf: 10–20g
• Decorative accents and trims: 5–15g

Actual usage depends on garment size, stitch pattern, and the desired amount of metallic effect.

➤ Recommended Pairings From iDOKNiT:
One of this yarn's greatest strengths is its ability to elevate virtually any natural fiber without overwhelming it.
