Cashmere Tweed Yarn by Cariaggi NEW HARRIS is a rare luxury Italian fingering weight yarn made from 100% pure cashmere, with approximately 400 meters per 100 g. This exceptional tweed cashmere combines the softness and warmth of premium Italian cashmere with the timeless character of classic tweed texture.
The base color is a sophisticated taupe melange with subtle light green tweed flecks that create depth, richness, and a refined natural look. This is not loud or rustic tweed — it is elegant luxury tweed with a very soft, understated appearance typical of high-end Italian knitwear.
I knitted my sample using US size 4 needles in a single strand and washed it twice. After each wash, the fabric became noticeably softer, fuller, and slightly puffier. This yarn truly blooms beautifully with washing and wear, developing an even softer and more luxurious hand over time.
This yarn is especially perfect for people sensitive to traditional wool yarns or those who prefer soft, non-itchy luxury fibers.

⚑ Why This Yarn Is Special
NEW HARRIS is a true luxury cashmere tweed — a rare combination because tweed yarns are often associated with rougher rustic wool textures. Cariaggi created something completely different here: a refined Italian cashmere tweed that keeps all the softness and elegance of luxury cashmere while adding visual texture and timeless tweed character.
The taupe melange base with soft green tweed flecks creates a sophisticated natural palette that works beautifully for timeless garments and elevated everyday knitwear.
Unlike many cashmere yarns that remain very flat, this yarn develops more body and softness after washing. The fabric blooms beautifully, becoming increasingly soft and luxurious over time.
This is exactly the type of yarn used for understated luxury knitwear — elegant, timeless, and quietly expensive-looking.

Unlike other shops where cone costs are often built into the yarn price—regardless of the format—our pricing is transparent. You pay only for the yarn itself. If you’d like your order wound on a cone, it can be purchased separately. This small additional charge also helps cover packaging differences and the actual cost of the cone. No hidden fees, no inflated markups—just honest, straightforward pricing.
Please Note
Please Note
- Please keep in mind: cone yarns, especially those made with extra fine merino or cashmere, may include a protective coating used for industrial knitting. A few gentle washes will allow the yarn to bloom, soften, and reveal its natural texture.
- Colors are photographed in natural light but may appear slightly different depending on your screen.
- FOR YARN THAT IS CUSTOM-WOUND, ±1–2g variation per 100g may occur due to winding.
- Each ball/cone is wound with care and packed securely to ensure it reaches you in perfect condition.
