DOREEN by Filati BE.MI.VA., Italy is a unique lace-weight Italian yarn made from 55% cotton and 45% polyamide, with approximately 420 meters per 100 g. This is a true fantasy yarn designed to bring texture, movement, and personality into your knitting. It can be used on its own, but it truly shines when combined with other yarns. I highly recommend zooming in on the photos to really see the structure of the thread — the small decorative details and texture are much more visible up close.

This yarn has a very playful, almost “happy” character. The cotton base provides structure, while the polyamide reinforces the thread and allows it to hold its decorative shape. The construction creates a light, textured fabric that adds life to even the simplest projects.

➤ IMPORTANT — Yarn Usage
I really recommend using this yarn together with something else. Yes, you can knit it on its own — especially if you want to keep the color bold and expressive — but in my experience, it becomes much more interesting when combined.

When you hold it together with another yarn, it can soften the color and create a slightly washed-out, more complex look. I personally love this effect.

For me, this is a “happy yarn.” It changes the mood of the project completely — makes it lighter, more playful, more alive. It’s also very practical: if you are working with something like viscose that tends to stretch, this yarn works as a stabilizer and helps the fabric behave much better.

It’s one of those yarns that doesn’t just add texture — it changes the whole character of your knit.

Please keep in mind: cone yarns, especially those made with extra fine merino or cashmere, may include a protective coating used for industrial knitting. A few gentle washes will allow the yarn to bloom, soften, and reveal its natural texture.
