Linen Yarn by Exclusive Italian Mill IRISH is an extra-fine luxury Italian lace yarn made from 100% linen, with approximately 2600 meters per 100 g. This is an exceptional companion yarn for blending, weaving, machine knitting, and creating refined summer garments with structure, breathability, and a clean high-end finish.
This yarn is significantly finer than most linen yarns on the market, offering exceptional meterage per 100 g. It is not meant to be used like regular hand-knitting yarn in one strand. Instead, it works beautifully as a luxury companion yarn — even one fine strand can change how your fabric behaves by adding structure, reducing stretch, and giving the finished piece a more polished, European summer look.
An exceptional yarn for blending — a true luxury companion that enhances any fiber you pair it with.

⚑ Why This Yarn Is Special
IRISH is a rare production-quality linen yarn in an extremely fine count. It gives you full control over the fabric you want to create: you can hold it with another yarn, use multiple strands together, machine knit it, weave with it, or use it as a structural companion thread.
Linen has almost no elasticity, which makes it very valuable in blends. It helps stabilize soft or stretchy yarns, reduces sagging, and helps garments keep their shape over time. It also adds that crisp, breathable, slightly dry luxury hand associated with refined summer knitwear.
Even a small amount of linen can make a yarn blend look more finished, structured, and expensive.
✧ Fiber Profile
• Linen: breathable, strong, and naturally cooling
• Adds structure and stability
• Helps reduce stretch in softer yarns
• Durable and long-lasting
• Softens over time with wear and washing
➤ IMPORTANT — Yarn Usage
This is an extra-fine lace yarn at approximately 2600 m per 100 g, so I do not recommend it for comfortable single-strand hand knitting.
The best way to use this yarn is as a luxury companion yarn. It can be held together with silk, cotton, viscose, cashmere, merino, or other fine yarns to add structure, dryness, breathability, and a more refined finish.
It is also excellent for machine knitting and weaving. If you love creating your own custom blends, this is the kind of yarn that can completely transform the final fabric.

Unlike other shops where cone costs are often built into the yarn price—regardless of the format—our pricing is transparent. You pay only for the yarn itself. If you’d like your order wound on a cone, it can be purchased separately. This small additional charge also helps cover packaging differences and the actual cost of the cone. No hidden fees, no inflated markups—just honest, straightforward pricing.
Please Note
Please Note
- Please keep in mind: cone yarns, especially those made with extra fine merino or cashmere, may include a protective coating used for industrial knitting. A few gentle washes will allow the yarn to bloom, soften, and reveal its natural texture.
- Colors are photographed in natural light but may appear slightly different depending on your screen.
- FOR YARN THAT IS CUSTOM-WOUND, ±1–2g variation per 100g may occur due to winding.
- Each ball/cone is wound with care and packed securely to ensure it reaches you in perfect condition.
