KIRK CLOUD is an exceptionally soft and airy Italian luxury yarn crafted from 75% Cashmere and 25% Super Kid Mohair. This refined blend combines the warmth and elegance of cashmere with the delicate halo and lightness of kid mohair, resulting in a fabric that feels both cloud-like and structured.

Spun as a non-combed yarn, KIRK CLOUD retains a natural loft and softness, enhancing its ability to bloom beautifully after washing and blocking. Despite its fingering classification, the yarn offers visual depth and texture due to the mohair content.

Texture & Feel
Light, airy, and softly voluminous. The cashmere provides warmth and smoothness, while the kid mohair introduces a delicate halo and elegant dimension. The yarn blooms after finishing, creating a soft, luxurious fabric with refined drape.

Important Working Note
Single strand produces a light, airy fingering fabric. For denser garments, holding two strands together is recommended.

Recommended Strand Pairing
• 1 strand: soft, lightweight fabric with visible halo
• 2 strands: sport weight feel
• 3 strands: light DK density
Swatching is recommended to determine desired structure and opacity.

Companion Yarn Recommendations
Pairs beautifully with:
• Extrafine merino for added elasticity
• Silk blends for elevated sheen
• Fine cashmere bases for denser luxury knitwear
• Held together with smooth yarns to soften stitch definition

Recommended Uses
• Sweaters and cardigans
• Elegant shawls and wraps
• Lightweight scarves
• Soft winter accessories
• Luxury layering pieces

Recommended Needles & Hooks
• Knitting Needles: approx. 3.0–4.0 mm (US 2.5–6)
• Crochet Hooks: approx. 3.0–4.5 mm
Adjust based on strand count and desired fabric density.

Weaving Suitability
Suitable for weaving lightweight, soft fabrics. The halo effect becomes more pronounced after wet finishing. Sampling recommended.

Care Instructions
• Hand wash gently in cold water
• Do not wring or twist
• Lay flat to dry
• Store folded

Formats: Balls (BY DEFAULT) or Cones (PLEASE PURCHASE)

FOR FULL-CONE SALES, THERE IS NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE FOR THE CONE. Yarn will remain on its original cone.

FOR YARN THAT IS NOT SOLD AS A FULL CONE BUT IN VARIOUS WOUND WEIGHTS, ALL YARN WILL BE WOUND INTO BALLS BY DEFAULT. CONES ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE YARN PRICE. However, we can wind it onto cones upon request. Cones may be purchased separately if you prefer continuous yardage for machine knitting or multi-strand projects. One color is typically wound per cone to maintain consistency.

PLEACE BUY CONES HERE

Unlike other shops where cone costs are often built into the yarn price—regardless of the format—our pricing is transparent. You pay only for the yarn itself. If you’d like your order wound on a cone, it can be purchased separately. This small additional charge also helps cover packaging differences and the actual cost of the cone. No hidden fees, no inflated markups—just honest, straightforward pricing.

Please Note

  • Please keep in mind: cone yarns, especially those made with extra fine merino or cashmere, may include a protective coating used for industrial knitting. A few gentle washes will allow the yarn to bloom, soften, and reveal its natural texture.
  • Colors are photographed in natural light but may appear slightly different depending on your screen.
  • FOR YARN THAT IS CUSTOM-WOUND, ±1–2g variation per 100g may occur due to winding.
  • Each ball/cone is wound with care and packed securely to ensure it reaches you in perfect condition.

Shipping & Order Processing

Orders are prepared in the order received and typically ship within 3–5 business days. Custom requests such as cone winding may require additional time. Multiple orders placed before shipment may be combined. Shipping refunds are not issued for combined orders.

We ship worldwide with tracking provided. As customs policies and tariffs can change frequently, any duties, taxes, or import fees are the sole responsibility of the buyer. These charges are not collected by us at the time of purchase but are typically paid to your local postal service or customs office upon the arrival of your package.
