This beautifully traditional wool is spun from 100% merino wool sourced from Latvian Merino sheep and processed at the historic Paces Vilnas Fabrika in Latvia, where time-honored methods help preserve the fiber’s natural character. Because no chemical detergents are used in processing, the yarn retains up to 70% of its natural lanolin, giving it warmth, elasticity, gentle bloom, and that special “alive” feeling in the hands while knitting or crocheting.

Unlike overly processed modern merino, this yarn still feels natural and full of character. It combines the softness of merino with the depth, spring, and warmth of a more traditional wool, making it especially appealing to knitters and crocheters who want softness without losing the beauty of real fiber.

• Creates fabric with a natural, refined, and authentic wool feel

⌁ Why This Wool Is Special
This yarn offers something many modern merino yarns no longer do: softness with real fiber character. It is merino, but not in a flat, over-processed way. Instead, it keeps the lively hand, natural warmth, and subtle depth that make traditionally processed wool feel so special while still being gentler and more wearable than rustic heritage yarns.

Because the yarn retains so much of its natural lanolin, it feels warm, springy, and alive in the hands. Finished pieces feel breathable and balanced rather than dry or overly polished. After washing, the strand blooms gently, the fabric relaxes, and the color opens beautifully.

As a lace-weight single ply, this yarn is especially beautiful for airy projects, elegant accessories, and refined layering pieces. For larger garments, many makers will prefer using it held double or pairing it with a companion yarn for more body and comfort.

➤ Recommended Needles & Hooks
• Knitting needles: 2.25 – 3.25 mm
• Crochet hooks: 2.0 – 3.0 mm
• Use larger needles for open lace and airy shawls
• For garments, many makers may prefer holding it double or pairing it with another yarn

⋔ Perfect For
• Lace shawls and wraps
• Scarves, cowls, and fine accessories
• Lightweight sweaters and cardigans
• Baby blankets and baby accessories
• Mittens, hats, and soft layering pieces
• Delicate textured knitting
• Traditional lace patterns
• Garments worn close to the body when softness and warmth matter

➤ Especially Loved for Babies & Everyday Warmth
Many knitters especially appreciate this yarn for baby blankets, baby accessories, and garments worn close to the body because it creates fabric that feels warm, breathable, and naturally temperature-balancing rather than heavy or overly hot. The lanolin-rich merino has a lively, natural feel and is especially valued for projects where gentle warmth and comfort matter.

This yarn is also a beautiful choice for people who often feel cold and want knitwear that feels warm without feeling bulky. It works especially well for scarves, cowls, mittens, vests, and lightweight jackets that help keep the body cozy while still feeling breathable and comfortable.

⌁ Why This Yarn Excels
• Softness: Merino makes it comfortable and wearable
• Warmth: Natural lanolin helps the fiber feel deeply warming
• Breathability: Keeps warmth without feeling heavy or stuffy
• Elasticity: Natural spring helps fabric stay lively and resilient
• Bloom: Softens and opens beautifully after washing
• Authenticity: Traditionally processed, real-fiber feel with more character than polished superwash merino

➤ Recommended Pairings From iDOKNiT
For a fuller and more luxurious fabric, iDOKNiT especially recommends pairing this yarn with fine silk mohair, suri alpaca, or soft brushed alpaca. These companions add halo, loft, and softness while preserving the beauty and natural elasticity of the merino.

For sweaters, cardigans, hats, and other hand-knit garments, this yarn can also work beautifully held double. That gives the fabric more body and warmth while keeping the softness and gentle bloom of the wool.

For shawls, scarves, and baby pieces, pairing it with an extra-soft lace companion creates a more cocooning fabric with a refined finish while still keeping the natural breathability of the yarn.

➤ Important Note
Although this is a soft merino yarn, it is not a slick, flat, heavily processed superwash merino. It has more natural character, more lanolin, and more depth in the finished fabric.

Because this is a fine lace-weight single ply, it is especially beautiful for delicate projects on its own. For larger hand-knit garments, many makers may prefer using it doubled or paired with a companion yarn for a more practical thickness and structure.
