MERINOS by RiGo is an exceptional Italian extrafine merino — perfectly spun for a clean, refined fabric with beautiful stitch definition. It blooms and softens after washing and blocking, and it’s ideal when you want that polished “designer knitwear” look. This is a true building yarn: hold it in multiple strands to create the exact thickness and drape you want.

⚑ Why This Yarn Is Special
• Premium extrafine merino with a smooth, even spin and luxury finish

• Blooms and softens beautifully after washing and blocking
• Designed to be held in multiple strands so you can build your ideal thickness
⌁ Texture & Feel
• Smooth, refined hand on the cone/ball
• Softens and blooms after finishing
• Clean, elegant merino look with a comfortable, wearable feel
➤ Recommended Strand Pairing (Important)
• Single strand is NOT recommended (extra-fine yarn).
• 2 strands: ~750 m / 100 g (still too thin for most handknitting; true lace)
• 3 strands: ~500 m / 100 g (fine fabric)
• 4 strands: ~375 m / 100 g (lightweight)
• 5 strands: ~300 m / 100 g (best comfortable starting point)
• 6 strands: ~250 m / 100 g (sport / light DK feel depending on needles & tension)
• Swatching is strongly recommended
➤ Recommended Uses
• Sweaters, cardigans, vests, and tops (held 4–6 strands)
• Scarves, shawls, and wraps (held 3–5 strands depending on openness)
• Hats and accessories with a clean, elevated look
• Also excellent as a companion/base strand to add merino softness to blends
➤ Recommended Needles (Guideline)
• 4 strands: approx. 3.0–4.0 mm
• 5 strands: approx. 3.5–4.5 mm
• 6 strands: approx. 4.0–5.0 mm
• Always swatch — finishing changes the hand and final gauge
➤ Yarn Usage (Approximate)
• Hat: 80–150 g (held 4–6 strands)
• Scarf: 150–280 g (held 4–6 strands)
• Sweater: 300–650 g (held 4–6 strands; depends on size & gauge)
• Cardigan: 350–750 g (held 4–6 strands; depends on size & length)
➤ Weaving Suitability
• Suitable for weaving with proper tension
• For a stable cloth, use multiple ends together (similar to holding strands for knitting)
• Sample first and wet-finish to reveal the final softness and bloom
⟳ Care Instructions
• Hand wash cold with gentle wool detergent
• Do not wring
• Lay flat to dry
• Block gently to reveal softness and bloom

⚑ FOR FULL-CONE SALES, THERE IS NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE FOR THE CONE. Yarn will remain on its original cone.
⚑ FOR YARN THAT IS NOT SOLD AS A FULL CONE BUT IN VARIOUS WOUND WEIGHTS, ALL YARN WILL BE WOUND INTO BALLS BY DEFAULT. CONES ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE YARN PRICE. However, we can wind it onto cones upon request. Cones may be purchased separately if you prefer continuous yardage for machine knitting or multi-strand projects. One color is typically wound per cone to maintain consistency.
PLEACE BUY CONES HERE
Unlike other shops where cone costs are often built into the yarn price—regardless of the format—our pricing is transparent. You pay only for the yarn itself. If you’d like your order wound on a cone, it can be purchased separately. This small additional charge also helps cover packaging differences and the actual cost of the cone. No hidden fees, no inflated markups—just honest, straightforward pricing.
Please Note
Please Note
- Please keep in mind: cone yarns, especially those made with extra fine merino or cashmere, may include a protective coating used for industrial knitting. A few gentle washes will allow the yarn to bloom, soften, and reveal its natural texture.
- Colors are photographed in natural light but may appear slightly different depending on your screen.
- FOR YARN THAT IS CUSTOM-WOUND, ±1–2g variation per 100g may occur due to winding.
- Each ball/cone is wound with care and packed securely to ensure it reaches you in perfect condition.
