An exceptional luxury lace yarn from Todd & Duncan, one of Scotland’s most respected and historic cashmere mills. Spun from 100% pure cashmere, this ultra-fine yarn is lightweight, refined, and incredibly soft, offering outstanding warmth with minimal weight. Designed for professional-quality knitwear and refined multi-strand work, it is a true connoisseur’s fiber.

This is an extra-fine lace cashmere (Nm 2/28) and is not intended to be used in a single strand. It performs best when worked in multiple strands, allowing precise control over fabric weight, drape, and density.

Texture & Feel
Exceptionally soft, smooth, and refined. Feather-light yet warm, with elegant drape and no harshness or itch. Ideal for garments worn close to the skin and for luxury layering pieces.

Knitting Notes
This yarn must be used in multiple strands. Recommended starting point is 4–5 strands held together.
• Four strands create a fingering to light sport fabric.
• Five strands produce a sport to light DK fabric.
• Six or more strands move toward DK and light worsted.
• Multi-strand knitting preserves cashmere softness while adding structure and warmth.

Recommended Needle and Hook Sizes (4–5 Strands)
Knitting needles: 3.5–4.5 mm (US 4–7)
Crochet hooks: 3.5–4.5 mm
Swatching is strongly recommended to adjust density and drape.

Estimated Yarn Usage (4–5 Strands Held Together)
• Sweater (S–M): 250–350 g
• Sweater (L–XL): 350–450 g
• Cardigan or oversized garment: 400–500 g
• Shawl or wrap: 150–250 g
• Scarf or cowl: 100–150 g
• Baby set: 100–150 g

Cashmere is warm and lightweight, so garments require less yarn by weight than wool blends.

Weaving Recommendations
Best suited for weft in fine luxury fabrics. Use with a stronger warp such as silk, merino, or cotton. Produces soft, warm, elegant cloth with refined texture. Not recommended as warp without reinforcement.

Care Instructions
Hand wash gently in cool water using mild cashmere or wool detergent. Do not wring or twist. Lay flat to dry away from heat. Fabric softens and blooms after washing.

Formats: Balls (BY DEFAULT) or Cones (PLEASE PURCHASE)

FOR FULL-CONE SALES, THERE IS NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE FOR THE CONE. Yarn will remain on its original cone.

FOR YARN THAT IS NOT SOLD AS A FULL CONE BUT IN VARIOUS WOUND WEIGHTS, ALL YARN WILL BE WOUND INTO BALLS BY DEFAULT. CONES ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE YARN PRICE. However, we can wind it onto cones upon request. Cones may be purchased separately if you prefer continuous yardage for machine knitting or multi-strand projects. One color is typically wound per cone to maintain consistency.

PLEACE BUY CONES HERE

Unlike other shops where cone costs are often built into the yarn price—regardless of the format—our pricing is transparent. You pay only for the yarn itself. If you’d like your order wound on a cone, it can be purchased separately. This small additional charge also helps cover packaging differences and the actual cost of the cone. No hidden fees, no inflated markups—just honest, straightforward pricing.

Please Note

  • Please keep in mind: cone yarns, especially those made with extra fine merino or cashmere, may include a protective coating used for industrial knitting. A few gentle washes will allow the yarn to bloom, soften, and reveal its natural texture.
  • Colors are photographed in natural light but may appear slightly different depending on your screen.
  • FOR YARN THAT IS CUSTOM-WOUND, ±1–2g variation per 100g may occur due to winding.
  • Each ball/cone is wound with care and packed securely to ensure it reaches you in perfect condition.

Shipping & Order Processing

Orders are prepared in the order received and typically ship within 3–5 business days. Custom requests such as cone winding may require additional time. Multiple orders placed before shipment may be combined. Shipping refunds are not issued for combined orders.

We ship worldwide with tracking provided. As customs policies and tariffs can change frequently, any duties, taxes, or import fees are the sole responsibility of the buyer. These charges are not collected by us at the time of purchase but are typically paid to your local postal service or customs office upon the arrival of your package.
