ORGANIC STANDARD by IAFIL, Italy is a refined Italian fine yarn created from 80% Cotton and 20% Polyamide. With its 8/50 construction and approximately 625 meters / 684 yards per 100 g, this yarn offers a beautiful balance of softness, breathability, smooth stitch definition, and light resilience. The cotton gives it a natural, matte, comfortable hand, while the polyamide adds a little extra strength and support, making the finished fabric more practical and wearable.

This yarn is especially appealing for makers who want a fine yarn that feels soft and breathable, but not fragile. It creates elegant, polished fabric with a clean surface and comfortable drape, making it an excellent choice for lightweight garments, baby items, layering pieces, and refined accessories.

⚑ Why This Yarn Is Special
ORGANIC STANDARD offers the softness and breathability of cotton with a little extra practicality from polyamide. That makes it especially attractive for projects that should feel light, comfortable, and wearable, while still having enough strength and resilience for everyday use.

Its fine 8/50 construction makes it versatile and elegant. It works beautifully for tops, light sweaters, baby pieces, scarves, and layering garments where softness, clarity, and comfort matter. The finished fabric feels refined and polished rather than bulky or heavy.

➤ Recommended Pairings From iDOKNiT
This yarn is beautiful on its own, but it can also pair well with other fibers for makers who enjoy building custom fabrics.

Fine Linen
Adds more crispness and warm-weather texture.

Silk
Adds drape and a more fluid elegant finish.

Soft Merino
Adds warmth and elasticity for transitional garments.

These pairings make ORGANIC STANDARD especially versatile for makers who want breathable fabrics with more depth and character.

Formats: Balls (BY DEFAULT) or Cones (PLEASE PURCHASE)

FOR FULL-CONE SALES, THERE IS NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE FOR THE CONE. Yarn will remain on its original cone.

FOR YARN THAT IS NOT SOLD AS A FULL CONE BUT IN VARIOUS WOUND WEIGHTS, ALL YARN WILL BE WOUND INTO BALLS BY DEFAULT. CONES ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE YARN PRICE. However, we can wind it onto cones upon request. Cones may be purchased separately if you prefer continuous yardage for machine knitting or multi-strand projects. One color is typically wound per cone to maintain consistency.

PLEACE BUY CONES HERE

Unlike other shops where cone costs are often built into the yarn price—regardless of the format—our pricing is transparent. You pay only for the yarn itself. If you’d like your order wound on a cone, it can be purchased separately. This small additional charge also helps cover packaging differences and the actual cost of the cone. No hidden fees, no inflated markups—just honest, straightforward pricing.

Please Note

  • Please keep in mind: cone yarns, especially those made with extra fine merino or cashmere, may include a protective coating used for industrial knitting. A few gentle washes will allow the yarn to bloom, soften, and reveal its natural texture.
  • Colors are photographed in natural light but may appear slightly different depending on your screen.
  • FOR YARN THAT IS CUSTOM-WOUND, ±1–2g variation per 100g may occur due to winding.
  • Each ball/cone is wound with care and packed securely to ensure it reaches you in perfect condition.

Shipping & Order Processing

Orders are prepared in the order received and typically ship within 3–5 business days. Custom requests such as cone winding may require additional time. Multiple orders placed before shipment may be combined. Shipping refunds are not issued for combined orders.

We ship worldwide with tracking provided. As customs policies and tariffs can change frequently, any duties, taxes, or import fees are the sole responsibility of the buyer. These charges are not collected by us at the time of purchase but are typically paid to your local postal service or customs office upon the arrival of your package.
