✨ A luxurious and high-quality yarn from the Italian manufacturer PROFILIO s.n.c., ASTRO is a limited-quantity blend of premium fibers: 50% Alpaca, 30% Yak, and 20% Fine Wool. This exceptional combination creates a yarn that is not only incredibly soft and warm but also offers a beautiful drape, perfect for creating heirloom-quality knitwear.
📍 ALL PURCHASED YARN IS WOUND INTO BALLS BY DEFAULT. HOWEVER, WE CAN WIND IT ONTO CONES UPON REQUEST. THIS IS LIMITED QUANTITY YARN!
YOU CAN BUY CONES HERE
📍 CONES ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE YARN PRICE.
Unlike other shops where cone costs are often built into the yarn price—regardless of the format—our pricing is transparent. You pay only for the yarn itself. If you’d like your order wound on a cone, it can be purchased separately. This small additional charge also helps cover the shipping cost associated with different packaging sizes and the self-cost of the cone. No hidden fees, no inflated markups—just honest, straightforward pricing.

✨ Texture & Feel:
This yarn is exceptionally soft and lightweight, with a natural drape and elegant hand. The blend of Alpaca and Yak fibers provides incredible warmth and a silky feel, while the fine wool adds a subtle elasticity and resilience.
🧶 A Note from the Knitter:
I knitted the samples with US size 3 needles using just a single thread. After washing, the yarn bloomed beautifully—it filled in the small gaps between stitches, and the resulting fabric looked very even and soft.
🧶 Recommended Uses:
• Fine-gauge sweaters and cardigans
• Luxurious shawls, scarves, and wraps
• Delicate lace projects
• Hats, gloves, and other accessories
🪡 Recommended Needles & Hooks:
• Knitting: US 1–4 (2.25–3.5 mm)
• Crochet: B–E (2.25–3.5 mm)
📏 Recommended Yarn Usage
(based on 550 m / 601 yd per 100 g)
• Shawl / Wrap – 250 g (≈ 1,375 m / 1,503 yd)
• Long-Sleeve Sweater (Women’s M) – 400 g (≈ 2,200 m / 2,404 yd)
• Baby Set (Hat + Sweater) – 120 g (≈ 660 m / 721 yd)
• Scarf – 180 g (≈ 990 m / 1,082 yd)
Note: If worked in 2 threads held together, effective yardage is halved.
📍 Care Instructions:
• Hand wash gently in cold water with mild detergent
• Do not wring or twist
• Lay flat to dry out of direct sunlight
📍 Please note:
Most yarn prepared on cones for machine knitting is lightly waxed to ensure smooth running. Once knit, it should be washed to reveal its true softness. This yarn is perfect for both hand and machine knitting, highly recommended for creating premium-quality knitwear.

• ±1–2g variation per 100g may occur due to the winding process.
• Each ball/cone is wound with care and packed securely to ensure it reaches you in perfect condition.
