Baby Cashmere Yarn by Exclusive Italian Mill BABY CASHMERE is a rare luxury Italian lace weight yarn made from 100% baby cashmere, with approximately 550 meters per 100 g. This refined Nm 2/11 cashmere yarn is incredibly soft, feather-light, warm, and gentle against the skin, while still being much more practical for hand knitting than ultra-fine cashmere bases.
This yarn is especially appealing for knitters who want true luxury without sacrificing usability. Because it is a fuller 2/11 count, it can work beautifully in a single strand for lightweight refined garments and accessories, while two strands create a warmer, richer fabric for sweaters, cardigans, scarves, and heirloom-quality pieces.

⚑ Why This Yarn Is Special
Baby cashmere is one of the most precious fibers in luxury knitwear, prized for its extraordinary softness, warmth, and delicate comfort. This yarn offers that refined luxury in a count that is much more practical for real projects than many ultra-fine cashmere cones.
The Nm 2/11 construction gives this yarn beautiful versatility. In one strand, it creates soft, lightweight fabric with elegant drape and a refined finish. In two strands, it becomes fuller, warmer, and more suitable for sweaters, cardigans, scarves, hats, and other timeless luxury pieces.
This is quiet luxury yarn — soft, elegant, understated, and beautifully wearable.
✧ Fiber Profile
• Baby cashmere: exceptional softness and gentle warmth
• Lightweight but insulating
• Refined, elegant, and comfortable next to the skin
• Excellent for luxury garments and heirloom accessories
• Develops more softness and bloom after washing
➤ IMPORTANT — Yarn Usage
I knitted my sample in one strand using US size 3 needles, and I absolutely loved working with this yarn. It was very easy to knit, smooth in the hands, and already felt incredibly soft before washing.
The most impressive part was how quickly the yarn changed when I placed the sample in water. Almost immediately, the fabric became puffier, softer, and more open. After washing, the yarn bloomed beautifully and became even more luxurious, airy, and soft.
I recommend knitting this yarn in one strand for light, refined knitwear with a soft airy feel. For very warm, fuller garments, two strands will create a richer and more winter-ready fabric while still keeping the beautiful softness and elegance of baby cashmere.
This yarn is also suitable for crochet, machine knitting, weaving, and refined textile work.

Unlike other shops where cone costs are often built into the yarn price—regardless of the format—our pricing is transparent. You pay only for the yarn itself. If you’d like your order wound on a cone, it can be purchased separately. This small additional charge also helps cover packaging differences and the actual cost of the cone. No hidden fees, no inflated markups—just honest, straightforward pricing.
Please Note
Please Note
- Please keep in mind: cone yarns, especially those made with extra fine merino or cashmere, may include a protective coating used for industrial knitting. A few gentle washes will allow the yarn to bloom, soften, and reveal its natural texture.
- Colors are photographed in natural light but may appear slightly different depending on your screen.
- FOR YARN THAT IS CUSTOM-WOUND, ±1–2g variation per 100g may occur due to winding.
- Each ball/cone is wound with care and packed securely to ensure it reaches you in perfect condition.
