Baby Merino Tweed Yarn from an Exclusive Italian Mill is a rare luxury Italian lace weight yarn made from 100% BABY Merino Wool, with approximately 700 meters per 100 g. This exceptionally soft tweed yarn features a deep dark blue base color accented with delicate flecks of light blue and white, creating a refined vintage-inspired texture with understated elegance.

Despite its classic tweed appearance, this yarn is surprisingly soft and gentle to the touch. It combines the airy lightness of fine lace yarn with the warmth and comfort of baby merino wool, making it ideal for delicate layering pieces, elegant shawls, lightweight sweaters, and timeless vintage-style garments.

The tweed flecks add depth and character without overpowering the fabric, creating beautifully sophisticated knitwear with subtle texture and visual richness.

⚑ Why This Yarn Is Special
This yarn combines two qualities that are rarely found together in tweed yarns: softness and elegance.

Traditional tweed yarns are often rustic, dry, or slightly rough, but this BABY Merino Tweed remains remarkably soft while still delivering the timeless charm of classic tweed fabrics.

The deep dark blue base with soft contrasting flecks creates a refined, almost heritage-inspired look that works beautifully for vintage-style garments, Scandinavian knits, understated luxury pieces, and elegant layering projects.

Because the yarn is lightweight and airy, it creates fabric with beautiful movement and softness rather than dense heavy tweed fabric.

This is exactly the kind of yarn that gives projects a sophisticated “quiet luxury” appearance.

✧ Fiber Profile
• 100% BABY Merino Wool
• Soft, lightweight warmth
• Gentle and skin-friendly
• Excellent breathability
• Elegant drape with subtle structure
• Beautiful bloom after wet blocking

➤ IMPORTANT — Yarn Usage
This yarn works beautifully in a single strand for delicate lacework, airy shawls, lightweight scarves, and elegant layering garments.

Holding two or three strands together creates fingering or sport-weight fabric suitable for sweaters, cardigans, wraps, and more substantial knitwear while preserving the soft tweed texture.

The yarn also blends beautifully with silk, mohair, alpaca, or other fine fibers to create custom textures and dimensional fabrics.

Formats: Balls (BY DEFAULT) or Cones (PLEASE PURCHASE)

FOR FULL-CONE SALES, THERE IS NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE FOR THE CONE. Yarn will remain on its original cone.

FOR YARN THAT IS NOT SOLD AS A FULL CONE BUT IN VARIOUS WOUND WEIGHTS, ALL YARN WILL BE WOUND INTO BALLS BY DEFAULT. CONES ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE YARN PRICE. However, we can wind it onto cones upon request. Cones may be purchased separately if you prefer continuous yardage for machine knitting or multi-strand projects. One color is typically wound per cone to maintain consistency.

PLEASE BUY CONES HERE

Unlike other shops where cone costs are often built into the yarn price—regardless of the format—our pricing is transparent. You pay only for the yarn itself. If you’d like your order wound on a cone, it can be purchased separately. This small additional charge also helps cover packaging differences and the actual cost of the cone. No hidden fees, no inflated markups—just honest, straightforward pricing.

Please Note

  • Please keep in mind: cone yarns, especially those made with extra fine merino or cashmere, may include a protective coating used for industrial knitting. A few gentle washes will allow the yarn to bloom, soften, and reveal its natural texture.
  • Colors are photographed in natural light but may appear slightly different depending on your screen.
  • FOR YARN THAT IS CUSTOM-WOUND, ±1–2g variation per 100g may occur due to winding.
  • Each ball/cone is wound with care and packed securely to ensure it reaches you in perfect condition.
