➤ My First Impressions:
Although I haven't knitted a swatch yet, this yarn immediately feels exceptional in your hands. The strand is incredibly round, thanks to its firm and even five-ply twist, and you can instantly feel the precision of the spinning. One thing I noticed right away is that the yarn has a very slight natural spring to it. It's subtle—not stretchy—but just enough to make it feel more lively than a typical cotton yarn. I have a feeling this little bit of resilience will help the finished fabric hold ribbing, cables, and textured stitch patterns beautifully while still maintaining crisp stitch definition.

The first thing that came to my mind was how beautifully this yarn should showcase stitch patterns. I expect it to hold cables, textured stitches, lace, and openwork exceptionally well because of its clean, stable construction. The 15% cashmere should add a delicate halo after washing, giving the finished fabric an even softer and more refined appearance.

Even on the cone, you can tell this is a luxury-quality yarn. BOTTO GIUSEPPE is a name that speaks for itself, and the spinning quality reflects that reputation. Both available colors are timeless and elegant—a classic black and a sophisticated smoky navy that will never go out of style.

➤ Texture & Feel:
PLUTONE has a smooth, matte finish with a dense, round strand that feels refined and well balanced. The firm twist gives the yarn excellent structure while the cashmere softens the overall hand, creating a yarn that feels comfortable without losing crisp stitch definition.

➤ Why This Yarn Is Different:
Many cotton yarns are either soft but loosely spun or firm and somewhat rigid. PLUTONE achieves a beautiful balance between the two. The carefully twisted construction creates outstanding stitch definition, while the addition of cashmere gives the yarn a softer, more luxurious feel and adds depth to the finished fabric.

➤ Fiber Profile:
Cotton provides breathability, durability, and beautiful stitch definition, making this yarn suitable for comfortable year-round garments. Cashmere contributes softness, warmth, and a refined touch that elevates the finished fabric beyond a traditional cotton yarn.

➤ Recommended Needles & Hooks:
• Knitting Needles: 2.75–3.75 mm (US 2–5)
• Crochet Hook: 2.5–3.5 mm

➤ Recommended Projects:
PLUTONE is an excellent choice for:
• Sweaters
• Cardigans
• Pullovers
• Lightweight jackets
• Summer and transitional tops
• Men's knitwear
• Children's garments
• Shawls
• Scarves
• Fine accessories

Its round construction makes it especially suitable for:
• Cables
• Ribbing
• Lace
• Openwork
• Textured stitch patterns

➤ Recommended Pairings from iDOKNiT:
PLUTONE is beautiful on its own but also pairs wonderfully with fine cashmere, lace-weight mohair, silk, or fine merino when additional softness or texture is desired.

➤ Weaving Suitability:
Its smooth, stable construction also makes PLUTONE an excellent choice for weaving, producing fabrics with beautiful structure, clean definition, and a refined hand.

➤ Care Instructions:
• Hand wash in cool water using a gentle wool detergent.
• Do not wring or twist.
• Lay flat to dry.
• Reshape while damp.
• Store folded.
• As with any luxury fiber, I always recommend washing your swatch before beginning your project to understand how the fabric will develop.

Formats: Balls (BY DEFAULT) or Cones (PLEASE PURCHASE)

FOR FULL-CONE SALES, THERE IS NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE FOR THE CONE. Yarn will remain on its original cone.

FOR YARN THAT IS NOT SOLD AS A FULL CONE BUT IN VARIOUS WOUND WEIGHTS, ALL YARN WILL BE WOUND INTO BALLS BY DEFAULT. CONES ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE YARN PRICE. However, we can wind it onto cones upon request. Cones may be purchased separately if you prefer continuous yardage for machine knitting or multi-strand projects. One color is typically wound per cone to maintain consistency.

PLEASE BUY CONES HERE

Unlike other shops where cone costs are often built into the yarn price—regardless of the format—our pricing is transparent. You pay only for the yarn itself. If you’d like your order wound on a cone, it can be purchased separately. This small additional charge also helps cover packaging differences and the actual cost of the cone. No hidden fees, no inflated markups—just honest, straightforward pricing.

Please Note

  • Please keep in mind: cone yarns, especially those made with extra fine merino or cashmere, may include a protective coating used for industrial knitting. A few gentle washes will allow the yarn to bloom, soften, and reveal its natural texture.
  • Colors are photographed in natural light but may appear slightly different depending on your screen.
  • FOR YARN THAT IS CUSTOM-WOUND, ±1–2g variation per 100g may occur due to winding.
  • Each ball/cone is wound with care and packed securely to ensure it reaches you in perfect condition.
