CHAMBRAY by Cariaggi, Italy is an exceptionally refined lace-weight yarn that blends cashmere and cotton into a rare balance of softness, breathability, and quiet luxury. With an ultra-fine 2/28 construction and approximately 1400 meters per 100 grams, this yarn is designed for lightweight, elegant fabrics with a smooth, modern finish.

This is a yarn for makers who appreciate subtle luxury. It does not rely on shine or texture to stand out — instead, it delivers through fiber quality, balance, and the way the fabric feels against the skin. Cashmere brings softness and a delicate bloom, while cotton adds structure and freshness, making it especially suitable for transitional and all-season garments.

Why This Yarn Is Special
CHAMBRAY stands out because it combines two very different fibers into a perfectly balanced yarn. Cashmere adds softness and warmth, while cotton controls the structure and keeps the fabric wearable even in milder temperatures.

Unlike pure cashmere lace yarns that can feel too delicate or too warm, this blend creates a more versatile fabric — one that can be worn across seasons. The result is a yarn that feels luxurious but practical, refined but easy to wear.

Fiber Profile — Cashmere & Cotton
Cashmere adds:
• Softness and comfort
• Light warmth without heaviness
• Gentle bloom after washing

Cotton adds:
• Breathability and freshness
• Structure and stability
• A cleaner, more modern finish

Together, they create a yarn that is both soft and wearable, with a natural balance between luxury and functionality.

IMPORTANT — Yarn Usage
• This is a very fine lace yarn — multiple strands are recommended for hand knitting
• Single strand is best suited for machine knitting or very delicate projects
• 2–3 strands: ideal for lightweight garments
• 3–4 strands: suitable for more structured knitwear
• Excellent for layering pieces worn close to the skin

Recommended Yarn Usage
• Lightweight sweater (held 2–3 strands): approx. 250–350 g
• Sweater (held 3–4 strands): approx. 350–500 g
• Shawl or wrap: approx. 150–300 g
• Scarf or cowl: approx. 120–250 g
• Fine garments and layering pieces: variable

Formats: Balls (BY DEFAULT) or Cones (PLEASE PURCHASE)

FOR FULL-CONE SALES, THERE IS NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE FOR THE CONE. Yarn will remain on its original cone.

FOR YARN THAT IS NOT SOLD AS A FULL CONE BUT IN VARIOUS WOUND WEIGHTS, ALL YARN WILL BE WOUND INTO BALLS BY DEFAULT. CONES ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE YARN PRICE. However, we can wind it onto cones upon request. Cones may be purchased separately if you prefer continuous yardage for machine knitting or multi-strand projects. One color is typically wound per cone to maintain consistency.

PLEASE BUY CONES HERE

Unlike other shops where cone costs are often built into the yarn price—regardless of the format—our pricing is transparent. You pay only for the yarn itself. If you’d like your order wound on a cone, it can be purchased separately. This small additional charge also helps cover packaging differences and the actual cost of the cone. No hidden fees, no inflated markups—just honest, straightforward pricing.

Please Note

  • Please keep in mind: cone yarns, especially those made with extra fine merino or cashmere, may include a protective coating used for industrial knitting. A few gentle washes will allow the yarn to bloom, soften, and reveal its natural texture.
  • Colors are photographed in natural light but may appear slightly different depending on your screen.
  • FOR YARN THAT IS CUSTOM-WOUND, ±1–2g variation per 100g may occur due to winding.
  • Each ball/cone is wound with care and packed securely to ensure it reaches you in perfect condition.
