Experience the innovation of Japanese textile engineering with SATO SENI MOCCIMEN, an exceptionally fine stretch yarn made primarily from premium Cotton with built-in Elastane. With an impressive 1000 meters (1094 yards) per 100g, this lightweight yarn combines breathable comfort, crisp stitch definition, gentle elasticity, and excellent shape retention.
Unlike traditional cotton yarns that may gradually stretch out during wear, MOCCIMEN recovers beautifully, helping garments maintain their original shape while providing exceptional comfort and freedom of movement. Its smooth multi-ply cord construction creates clean, modern fabrics with remarkable durability and a refined appearance.
Designed primarily for luxury fashion production, MOCCIMEN is best knitted using two or more strands held together, allowing you to create lightweight garments with beautiful structure and responsive elasticity.
This is genuine Japanese mill-stock yarn originally produced for commercial luxury manufacturers. Once these limited mill lots are gone, they cannot be reproduced or reordered.

➤ My Knitting Experience
I highly recommend using the Zoom feature on each product photo. The close-up images clearly show the smooth cord construction and excellent spinning quality, details that are difficult to appreciate in standard photos.
This yarn surprised me with how different it feels compared to ordinary cotton. Although it is incredibly fine, it has beautiful body and resilience because of the elastane. The stitches remain crisp and well-defined, while the fabric feels flexible rather than stiff.
For hand knitting, I recommend starting with two strands held together. This creates a comfortable fabric with approximately 500 meters per 100g, making it suitable for lightweight garments with excellent recovery. Three or more strands produce a denser fabric while maintaining the same comfortable elasticity.
One of the biggest advantages of this yarn is its ability to maintain its shape. Unlike many cotton yarns that can become loose after repeated wear, MOCCIMEN springs back beautifully and helps finished garments keep a clean, polished appearance.
I especially like it for fitted sweaters, knitted T-shirts, cardigans, ribbing, dresses, skirts, and other garments where comfortable stretch and shape retention make a noticeable difference.

⚑ FOR FULL-CONE SALES, THERE IS NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE FOR THE CONE. Yarn will remain on its original cone.
⚑ FOR YARN THAT IS NOT SOLD AS A FULL CONE BUT IN VARIOUS WOUND WEIGHTS, ALL YARN WILL BE WOUND INTO BALLS BY DEFAULT. CONES ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE YARN PRICE. However, we can wind it onto cones upon request. Cones may be purchased separately if you prefer continuous yardage for machine knitting or multi-strand projects. One color is typically wound per cone to maintain consistency.
PLEASE BUY CONES HERE
Unlike other shops where cone costs are often built into the yarn price—regardless of the format—our pricing is transparent. You pay only for the yarn itself. If you’d like your order wound on a cone, it can be purchased separately. This small additional charge also helps cover packaging differences and the actual cost of the cone. No hidden fees, no inflated markups—just honest, straightforward pricing.
Please Note
Please Note
- Please keep in mind: cone yarns, especially those made with extra fine merino or cashmere, may include a protective coating used for industrial knitting. A few gentle washes will allow the yarn to bloom, soften, and reveal its natural texture.
- Colors are photographed in natural light but may appear slightly different depending on your screen.
- FOR YARN THAT IS CUSTOM-WOUND, ±1–2g variation per 100g may occur due to winding.
- Each ball/cone is wound with care and packed securely to ensure it reaches you in perfect condition.
