GLICINE is a beautifully soft Italian yarn manufactured by Filati Naturali in Italy, created from a refined blend of merino, cashmere, and polyamide. It feels exceptionally light in the hand and has a soft, fluffy appearance that gives the yarn warmth, comfort, and a fuller look than a plain smooth lace yarn.

From the way this yarn looks and feels, it is especially appealing for soft, airy knitwear with warmth and comfort. It has a fluffy, lightweight character and noticeable stretchiness, which makes it attractive for sweaters, scarves, shawls, and other pieces where softness and a gently expanded fabric matter.

Cashmere Bases
Increase softness and warmth for more luxurious knitwear.

Mohair on Silk
Add even more halo and atmosphere for especially airy pieces.

⟳ Care Instructions
• Hand wash cold with gentle wool or cashmere detergent
• Do not wring or twist
• Lay flat to dry
• Store folded rather than hanging

Formats: Balls (BY DEFAULT) or Cones (PLEASE PURCHASE)

FOR FULL-CONE SALES, THERE IS NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE FOR THE CONE. Yarn will remain on its original cone.

FOR YARN THAT IS NOT SOLD AS A FULL CONE BUT IN VARIOUS WOUND WEIGHTS, ALL YARN WILL BE WOUND INTO BALLS BY DEFAULT. CONES ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE YARN PRICE. However, we can wind it onto cones upon request. Cones may be purchased separately if you prefer continuous yardage for machine knitting or multi-strand projects. One color is typically wound per cone to maintain consistency.

PLEASE BUY CONES HERE

Unlike other shops where cone costs are often built into the yarn price—regardless of the format—our pricing is transparent. You pay only for the yarn itself. If you’d like your order wound on a cone, it can be purchased separately. This small additional charge also helps cover packaging differences and the actual cost of the cone. No hidden fees, no inflated markups—just honest, straightforward pricing.

Please Note

  • Please keep in mind: cone yarns, especially those made with extra fine merino or cashmere, may include a protective coating used for industrial knitting. A few gentle washes will allow the yarn to bloom, soften, and reveal its natural texture.
  • Colors are photographed in natural light but may appear slightly different depending on your screen.
  • FOR YARN THAT IS CUSTOM-WOUND, ±1–2g variation per 100g may occur due to winding.
  • Each ball/cone is wound with care and packed securely to ensure it reaches you in perfect condition.

These charges are not collected by us at the time of purchase but are typically paid to your local postal service or customs office upon the arrival of your package.
