Experience exceptional Italian craftsmanship with FILCOM PAMIR TWEED, a refined 50% Yak / 50% Silk lace-weight yarn beautifully enhanced with delicate multicolored tweed flecks. With approximately 700 meters (765 yards) per 100g, this lightweight yarn combines natural warmth, elegant drape, remarkable softness, and beautiful stitch definition.

The naturally dark Yak fibers create soft earthy undertones throughout every color, while the colorful tweed flecks add subtle texture and visual depth without overwhelming the fabric. The silk contributes graceful drape and a delicate natural sheen, creating garments that feel lightweight, comfortable, and wonderfully warm.

PAMIR TWEED is equally beautiful knitted alone or paired with Kid Mohair, Cashmere, Silk, Fine Merino, Alpaca, Linen, or other luxury yarns.

➤ My First Impressions
I highly recommend using the Zoom feature on every product photo. The close-up images reveal the delicate tweed flecks, the beautiful Yak halo, and the rich melange effect that standard photographs simply cannot capture.

One of the first things that caught my attention was the beautiful light brown Yak halo, which is already visible on the cone. I was pleasantly surprised to see how much of the Yak's natural character remains after dyeing. Rather than completely disappearing into the color, the Yak continues to contribute its signature warm undertones and delicate halo, while the silk absorbs the dye more evenly. The result is beautiful melange shades with remarkable depth that I don't often see in other Yak blends. To me, this is one of the yarn's most distinctive features.

Another pleasant surprise was its softness. Yak is best known for its exceptional warmth, but in this 50/50 blend with silk, the yarn already feels remarkably soft before washing. If I had to rate it straight from the cone, I would honestly give it 8.5–9 out of 10. I expect it to become even softer after washing. The generous Yak content provides excellent warmth, while the silk balances the blend beautifully, making it smooth, comfortable, and pleasant to wear directly against the skin.

I also love that the tweed flecks don't dominate the yarn. Instead, they add just enough color and texture to make even simple stockinette look interesting while preserving the elegant appearance of the fabric.

Formats: Balls (BY DEFAULT) or Cones (PLEASE PURCHASE)

FOR FULL-CONE SALES, THERE IS NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE FOR THE CONE. Yarn will remain on its original cone.

FOR YARN THAT IS NOT SOLD AS A FULL CONE BUT IN VARIOUS WOUND WEIGHTS, ALL YARN WILL BE WOUND INTO BALLS BY DEFAULT. CONES ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE YARN PRICE. However, we can wind it onto cones upon request. Cones may be purchased separately if you prefer continuous yardage for machine knitting or multi-strand projects. One color is typically wound per cone to maintain consistency.

PLEASE BUY CONES HERE

Unlike other shops where cone costs are often built into the yarn price—regardless of the format—our pricing is transparent. You pay only for the yarn itself. If you’d like your order wound on a cone, it can be purchased separately. This small additional charge also helps cover packaging differences and the actual cost of the cone. No hidden fees, no inflated markups—just honest, straightforward pricing.

Please Note

  • Please keep in mind: cone yarns, especially those made with extra fine merino or cashmere, may include a protective coating used for industrial knitting. A few gentle washes will allow the yarn to bloom, soften, and reveal its natural texture.
  • Colors are photographed in natural light but may appear slightly different depending on your screen.
  • FOR YARN THAT IS CUSTOM-WOUND, ±1–2g variation per 100g may occur due to winding.
  • Each ball/cone is wound with care and packed securely to ensure it reaches you in perfect condition.

Shipping & Order Processing

Orders are prepared in the order received and typically ship within 3–5 business days. Custom requests such as cone winding may require additional time. Multiple orders placed before shipment may be combined. Shipping refunds are not issued for combined orders.

We ship worldwide with tracking provided. As customs policies and tariffs can change frequently, any duties, taxes, or import fees are the sole responsibility of the buyer. These charges are not collected by us at the time of purchase but are typically paid to your local postal service or customs office upon the arrival of your package.
