FILCOM TIBET, Italy is an exceptional luxury yarn spun from an exquisite blend of 50% Yak and 50% Silk. With approximately 550 meters / 601 yards per 100g, this fine Sport-to-Light Fingering yarn offers a remarkable balance of warmth, softness, elegant drape, and airy lightness. Rather than relying on decorative effects, TIBET showcases the natural beauty of two of the world's most luxurious fibers, creating fabrics with timeless sophistication and understated elegance.

What makes TIBET truly special is the harmony between Yak and Silk. Yak contributes exceptional warmth, remarkable softness, and a rich, velvety hand, while Silk adds strength, graceful drape, and a refined natural sheen. Together, they create fabrics that feel luxurious and warm without unnecessary weight, making this yarn ideal for refined sweaters, shawls, wraps, scarves, and elegant layering pieces worn close to the skin.

Unlike heavier luxury yarns, TIBET's generous meterage allows you to create lightweight garments that remain warm, breathable, and comfortable throughout the seasons. It is equally beautiful knitted alone or paired with other luxury fibers to create even more sophisticated fabrics.

⌁ Texture & Feel
Exceptional Softness
The luxurious Yak fiber creates an incredibly soft, velvety hand that feels wonderful against the skin.

Elegant Natural Drape
Silk provides graceful movement, fluidity, and beautiful drape without making the fabric feel heavy.

Lightweight Warmth
Yak is naturally warmer than many traditional luxury fibers, allowing lightweight garments to provide remarkable comfort.

Refined Natural Sheen
The Silk adds a subtle, elegant luster that enhances the beauty of every stitch without appearing shiny.

Balanced Luxury
The equal blend of Yak and Silk creates fabrics that are warm, breathable, refined, and exceptionally comfortable.

⚑ Why This Yarn Is Special
Yak is one of the world's most exclusive luxury fibers, valued for its remarkable warmth, softness, and lightweight comfort. Combined with premium Silk in an equal 50/50 blend, TIBET achieves an exceptional balance of insulation, elegant drape, natural softness, strength, and refined beauty.

This rare combination allows the natural qualities of both fibers to shine without relying on decorative textures or novelty construction. The result is a timeless luxury yarn that produces elegant fabrics with beautiful stitch definition, graceful movement, and outstanding comfort.

Its generous meterage also makes TIBET an excellent choice for knitters who appreciate lightweight garments that remain warm without bulk.

➤ Important Note About the Colors
I highly recommend using the zoom feature on each color photo to fully appreciate the beauty of every shade. Yak fibers naturally create beautiful depth and subtle tonal variation that is difficult to capture in standard photographs. The close-up images reveal the richness and elegance of each color much more accurately.

Formats: Balls (BY DEFAULT) or Cones (PLEASE PURCHASE)

FOR FULL-CONE SALES, THERE IS NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE FOR THE CONE. Yarn will remain on its original cone.

FOR YARN THAT IS NOT SOLD AS A FULL CONE BUT IN VARIOUS WOUND WEIGHTS, ALL YARN WILL BE WOUND INTO BALLS BY DEFAULT. CONES ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE YARN PRICE. However, we can wind it onto cones upon request. Cones may be purchased separately if you prefer continuous yardage for machine knitting or multi-strand projects. One color is typically wound per cone to maintain consistency.

PLEASE BUY CONES HERE

Unlike other shops where cone costs are often built into the yarn price—regardless of the format—our pricing is transparent. You pay only for the yarn itself. If you’d like your order wound on a cone, it can be purchased separately. This small additional charge also helps cover packaging differences and the actual cost of the cone. No hidden fees, no inflated markups—just honest, straightforward pricing.

Please Note

  • Please keep in mind: cone yarns, especially those made with extra fine merino or cashmere, may include a protective coating used for industrial knitting. A few gentle washes will allow the yarn to bloom, soften, and reveal its natural texture.
  • Colors are photographed in natural light but may appear slightly different depending on your screen.
  • FOR YARN THAT IS CUSTOM-WOUND, ±1–2g variation per 100g may occur due to winding.
  • Each ball/cone is wound with care and packed securely to ensure it reaches you in perfect condition.

Shipping & Order Processing

Orders are prepared in the order received and typically ship within 3–5 business days. Custom requests such as cone winding may require additional time. Multiple orders placed before shipment may be combined. Shipping refunds are not issued for combined orders.

We ship worldwide with tracking provided. As customs policies and tariffs can change frequently, any duties, taxes, or import fees are the sole responsibility of the buyer. These charges are not collected by us at the time of purchase but are typically paid to your local postal service or customs office upon the arrival of your package.
