Exceptionally light Italian yarn made with 58% Superkid Mohair, 6% Wool, and 36% Polyamide. With an extraordinary 1500m/100g (1640yd/3.52oz), this ultra-fine yarn gives you the beautiful floating halo of Superkid Mohair while adding very little weight to the finished fabric.

Use several strands together to create your preferred yarn weight, knit it on a machine, or carry one fine strand alongside another yarn to transform a smooth fabric with a delicate Mohair haze.

Superkid Mohair gives this yarn its soft, airy halo. Wool adds body, while Polyamide provides stability to the exceptionally fine construction.

The yarn creates impressive visual volume without requiring a heavy strand, making it especially interesting for lightweight garments and layering.

➤ Hand Knitting — Strand Weight Guide
At 1500m/100g, this is not a conventional one-strand hand-knitting yarn. For most hand-knitting projects, use multiple strands or combine one strand with another yarn.

• 1 strand — Ultra-Fine Lace — 1500m/100g
• 2 strands — Lace — 750m/100g
• 3 strands — Light Fingering — 500m/100g
• 4 strands — Fingering — 375m/100g
• 5 strands — Sport — 300m/100g
• 6 strands — DK — 250m/100g
• 8 strands — Worsted — 188m/100g
• 10 strands — Chunky — 150m/100g

For hand knitting, 3–5 strands are a practical starting point for sampling. You can also combine different colors to create custom mélange and softly blended color effects.

Mohair does not need to be knitted tightly. Needle size should be selected according to the fabric you want, and larger needles can create a particularly beautiful open structure.

➤ How Much Will I Need?
Because 100g contains 1500 meters / 1640 yards, even a relatively small amount provides substantial length.

For multi-strand hand knitting:
• Lightweight top or vest: 100–200g / 3.5–7.1 oz
• Lightweight sweater: 150–250g / 5.3–8.8 oz
• Cardigan: 200–300g / 7.1–10.6 oz
• Scarf or wrap: 50–150g / 1.8–5.3 oz

When using one strand as a companion yarn:
• 50g = 750m / 820yd
• 100g = 1500m / 1640yd
• 150g = 2250m / 2461yd
• 200g = 3000m / 3281yd

When holding one strand together with another yarn throughout a project, match the Mohair by length rather than by weight. For example, if your project requires approximately 1200m / 1312yd of the main yarn, 100g of this Mohair provides enough length to accompany it throughout the project.

Garment size, gauge, needle size, and number of strands affect final consumption. Make and wash a sample before purchasing the full project quantity.

➤ Complete the Project — Recommended From iDOKNiT
One fine strand of this Superkid Mohair can completely change the surface of a smooth yarn without hiding its character.

CASHWOOL by Zegna Baruffa — 100% Extrafine Merino — adds elasticity, structure, and clean stitch definition underneath the soft Mohair surface.

HARMONY by Tollegno 1900 — 100% Extra Fine Merino — both yarns are 1500m/100g, making project calculations especially simple. Held one strand together with one strand of Mohair, they create approximately 750m/100g combined.

➤ Complete the Project — Needles
ChiaoGoo RED Lace 32" Circular Knitting Needles are an excellent choice for fine and multi-strand knitting.

For testing different strand combinations and fabric densities, ChiaoGoo FORTÉ 2.0 5" Interchangeable Needle Set provides a wide range of needle sizes in one set.

⋔ Recommended Uses
• Lightweight sweaters and pullovers
• Airy cardigans
• Mohair T-shirts and tops
• Vests and layering pieces
• Scarves and wraps
• Lace and openwork
• Soft oversized garments
• Custom color-blended projects
• Carry-along with Merino, Cashmere, Silk, or Wool
• Machine-knitted garments and accessories

➤ Machine Knitting
The 1500m/100g construction is particularly suitable for machine knitting. Use one strand for very fine fabric or combine multiple strands for additional body.

Exact settings depend on your machine, gauge, and desired fabric, so sampling is recommended.

⫯ Weaving Suitability
The fine construction can add a soft, hazy surface to lightweight woven textiles, either alone or alongside smoother fibers. Sample before using as warp because the Mohair surface may create additional friction under tension.

⟳ Care Instructions
• Hand wash gently in cool water with detergent suitable for fine animal fibers
• Do not rub, wring, or aggressively agitate
• Gently press excess water out with a towel
• Reshape and lay flat to dry

Formats: Balls (BY DEFAULT) or Cones (PLEASE PURCHASE)

FOR FULL-CONE SALES, THERE IS NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE FOR THE CONE. Yarn will remain on its original cone.

FOR YARN THAT IS NOT SOLD AS A FULL CONE BUT IN VARIOUS WOUND WEIGHTS, ALL YARN WILL BE WOUND INTO BALLS BY DEFAULT. CONES ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE YARN PRICE. However, we can wind it onto cones upon request. Cones may be purchased separately if you prefer continuous yardage for machine knitting or multi-strand projects. One color is typically wound per cone to maintain consistency.

PLEASE BUY CONES HERE

Unlike other shops where cone costs are often built into the yarn price—regardless of the format—our pricing is transparent. You pay only for the yarn itself. If you’d like your order wound on a cone, it can be purchased separately. This small additional charge also helps cover packaging differences and the actual cost of the cone. No hidden fees, no inflated markups—just honest, straightforward pricing.

Please Note

  • Please keep in mind: cone yarns, especially those made with extra fine merino or cashmere, may include a protective coating used for industrial knitting. A few gentle washes will allow the yarn to bloom, soften, and reveal its natural texture.
  • Colors are photographed in natural light but may appear slightly different depending on your screen.
  • FOR YARN THAT IS CUSTOM-WOUND, ±1–2g variation per 100g may occur due to winding.
  • Each ball/cone is wound with care and packed securely to ensure it reaches you in perfect condition.

Shipping & Order Processing

Orders are prepared in the order received and typically ship within 3–5 business days. Custom requests such as cone winding may require additional time. Multiple orders placed before shipment may be combined. Shipping refunds are not issued for combined orders.

We ship worldwide with tracking provided. As customs policies and tariffs can change frequently, any duties, taxes, or import fees are the sole responsibility of the buyer. These charges are not collected by us at the time of purchase but are typically paid to your local postal service or customs office upon the arrival of your package.
