➤ My First Impressions
One of the first things I noticed about CIPRIA is how incredibly smooth and refined the yarn feels. Even before knitting, the quality of the extra-long staple Pima cotton is immediately apparent. The strand is beautifully even, exceptionally soft, and remarkably strong without feeling heavy or stiff.

Because this is an extra-fine lace-weight yarn, I recommend beginning with three or more strands for hand knitting. This allows you to build exactly the fabric you want while preserving the elegant drape and beautiful stitch definition that make this yarn so special.

What impressed me most is the balance between softness and strength. Unlike many ordinary cotton yarns, CIPRIA feels silky smooth while remaining durable and resistant to pilling thanks to its premium Pima cotton fibers and three-ply construction.

I also believe this yarn is an exceptional companion yarn. It blends beautifully with linen, silk, merino, mohair, alpaca, and cashmere, adding strength, smoothness, and breathability while allowing the other fibers to retain their individual character.

After washing, untreated Organic Pima Cotton becomes even softer, the stitches relax beautifully, and the fabric develops an elegant natural hand that only improves with time.

✦ Texture & Feel:
Exceptionally soft, smooth, and breathable with a refined matte finish and remarkable stitch definition. The extra-long staple Pima cotton fibers create a yarn that feels luxurious while offering superior durability, strength, and resistance to pilling.

The fabric has graceful drape, excellent stitch clarity, and outstanding next-to-skin comfort, making it ideal for garments worn throughout the year.

If you appreciate understated natural luxury and exceptional fiber quality, CIPRIA is truly unforgettable.

➤ Recommended Uses:
Perfect for elegant summer tops, lightweight sweaters, cardigans, baby garments, children's knitwear, shawls, scarves, wraps, lace accessories, layering pieces, machine knitting, weaving, and sophisticated everyday knitwear.

✧ Tips & Recommendations:
Because of its extra-fine meterage, CIPRIA is best worked with three or more strands for hand knitting and crochet. Adjust the number of strands according to your desired fabric and gauge.

Simple stitch patterns, stockinette, textured stitches, ribs, and delicate lace all beautifully showcase the smooth surface and exceptional stitch definition of this premium Pima cotton.

CIPRIA also makes an outstanding companion yarn, adding strength, softness, and breathability to many luxury fiber blends.

Always knit and wash a swatch before beginning your project to determine the ideal strand count, gauge, and finished fabric.

➤ Recommended Needles/Hooks:
• Recommended starting point: Three to four strands
• Knitting Needles: US 2–5 (2.75–3.75 mm)
• Crochet Hooks: 2.75–3.5 mm
• Adjust needle or hook size according to your desired fabric
• Always make a washed swatch before beginning your project.

➤ Weaving Suitability:
Excellent for weaving. The smooth three-ply construction and exceptional strength of Organic Pima Cotton make CIPRIA suitable for both warp and weft. It creates elegant woven fabrics with beautiful drape, excellent durability, and remarkable stitch clarity, making it ideal for scarves, shawls, apparel fabrics, and fine home textiles.

⋔ Recommended Yarn Usage:
Approximate requirements when knitted with approximately three strands:

• Summer Top: 200–300g
• Sweater (M): 350–450g
• Lightweight Cardigan: 350–500g
• Shawl or Wrap: 150–250g
• Scarf: 100–180g
• Baby Set: 150g

Actual yarn requirements will vary depending on garment size, stitch pattern, gauge, strand count, and desired fabric density.

➤ Recommended Pairings From iDOKNiT:
One of CIPRIA's greatest strengths is its versatility. While beautiful on its own, it also serves as an exceptional companion yarn, adding smoothness, strength, and breathability to luxury fiber blends.

Natural Fibers
• Linen – Creates breathable summer fabrics with beautiful natural texture.
• Mulberry Silk – Adds elegant drape and luxurious sheen.
• Fine Merino – Introduces elasticity and year-round comfort.
• Kid Mohair – Creates an airy halo while maintaining smooth stitch definition.
• Cashmere – Produces exceptionally soft lightweight garments with natural breathability.

Recommended Pairings Available at iDOKNiT
LORO PIANA EXODUS – Adds luxurious Mulberry Silk and graceful drape.

• Untreated Organic Pima Cotton naturally softens after washing, developing an even softer hand while maintaining its beautiful stitch definition, strength, and elegant natural appearance.

Formats: Balls (BY DEFAULT) or Cones (PLEASE PURCHASE)

FOR FULL-CONE SALES, THERE IS NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE FOR THE CONE. Yarn will remain on its original cone.

FOR YARN THAT IS NOT SOLD AS A FULL CONE BUT IN VARIOUS WOUND WEIGHTS, ALL YARN WILL BE WOUND INTO BALLS BY DEFAULT. CONES ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE YARN PRICE. However, we can wind it onto cones upon request. Cones may be purchased separately if you prefer continuous yardage for machine knitting or multi-strand projects. One color is typically wound per cone to maintain consistency.

PLEASE BUY CONES HERE

Unlike other shops where cone costs are often built into the yarn price—regardless of the format—our pricing is transparent. You pay only for the yarn itself. If you’d like your order wound on a cone, it can be purchased separately. This small additional charge also helps cover packaging differences and the actual cost of the cone. No hidden fees, no inflated markups—just honest, straightforward pricing.

Please Note

  • Please keep in mind: cone yarns, especially those made with extra fine merino or cashmere, may include a protective coating used for industrial knitting. A few gentle washes will allow the yarn to bloom, soften, and reveal its natural texture.
  • Colors are photographed in natural light but may appear slightly different depending on your screen.
  • FOR YARN THAT IS CUSTOM-WOUND, ±1–2g variation per 100g may occur due to winding.
  • Each ball/cone is wound with care and packed securely to ensure it reaches you in perfect condition.

Shipping & Order Processing

Orders are prepared in the order received and typically ship within 3–5 business days. Custom requests such as cone winding may require additional time. Multiple orders placed before shipment may be combined. Shipping refunds are not issued for combined orders.

These charges are not collected by us at the time of purchase but are typically paid to your local postal service or customs office upon the arrival of your package.
