LANA GATTO recommends 4.5 mm / US 7, but SOMBRERO is worth swatching more openly. For relaxed sweaters, poncho-style knits and wraps, try 5–6 mm / US 8–10 for a softer, airier fabric with more drape.

Stockinette is particularly effective because it allows the gradient to flow without interruption. Garter or moss stitch can add subtle texture, while simple ribbing works beautifully for cuffs, hems and collars. With this much color movement, elaborate stitchwork is often unnecessary.

For crochet, start around 5–6 mm and adjust according to the fabric and drape you prefer.
