➤ My Knitting Experience
I knitted my swatch using US size 4 (3.5 mm) needles, and I genuinely enjoyed working with this yarn. Unlike many bouclé yarns, LUMIERE is surprisingly easy to knit. The bouclé effect is created not only by the looped structure itself but also by the way the fine lurex wraps around the main strand, making the stitches easy to see and work with.

The yarn has a gentle natural springiness that helps the fabric hold its shape beautifully without feeling stiff. After washing, the fibers bloomed nicely, becoming even softer while the fabric relaxed and developed beautiful texture. At the same time, the natural elasticity allowed the swatch to retain its shape exceptionally well.

I would recommend knitting this yarn primarily in simple stockinette stitch, allowing the unique bouclé texture to become the focal point. Simple textured stitches or uncomplicated lace patterns would also work beautifully.

The alpaca and wool make the fabric wonderfully soft, warm, and comfortable against the skin. The lurex doesn't scratch at all—in fact, after washing, the blooming fibers gently softened the metallic thread, creating an elegant shimmer rather than an obvious sparkle.

This yarn is also a wonderful companion yarn. It can be paired with eyelash yarns, textured novelty yarns, Kid Mohair, Fine Merino, or other luxury fibers to create even more sophisticated fabrics with incredible depth and dimension.

I can confidently say that I highly recommend this yarn. It is elegant, easy to knit, beautifully textured, and produces lightweight garments with exceptional warmth, softness, and shape retention.

Hand wash gently in cool water (30°C / 86°F) using a mild wool detergent. Do not wring or twist. Press excess moisture into a clean towel and lay flat to dry. Avoid hanging while wet. Light steaming will help the alpaca fibers bloom naturally, enhancing the yarn's softness, loft, and beautiful textured appearance.

Please keep in mind: cone yarns, especially those made with extra fine merino or cashmere, may include a protective coating used for industrial knitting. A few gentle washes will allow the yarn to bloom, soften, and reveal its natural texture.
