Linen Yarn by Toscano S.R.L QUARANTALINO is a luxury Italian lace weight yarn made from 100% pure linen, with approximately 2000 meters per 100 g. This extra-fine linen yarn is strong, breathable, elegant, and ideal for summer tops, cardigans, scarves, wraps, weaving, fine crochet, and heirloom-quality home textiles.

This yarn is very fine, so for most hand knitting and crochet projects it is best used held double or in multiple strands. Linen creates cool, structured, long-lasting fabric with a natural matte finish, beautiful drape, and refined European summer feel. It starts crisp and slightly dry, then softens beautifully with washing and wear.

⚑ Why This Yarn Is Special
QUARANTALINO is a refined Italian linen yarn for makers who love natural fibers, clean structure, and elegant warm-weather fabrics. Linen is one of the best fibers for summer garments because it is breathable, strong, naturally cooling, and long-lasting.

The extra-fine count gives you full control over the final fabric. You can hold multiple strands together for hand knitting or crochet, use it for weaving, or blend it with silk, cotton, viscose, wool, or cashmere to add structure, strength, and a fresh linen hand.

This yarn is especially valuable when you want a project that feels elegant, breathable, and timeless rather than stretchy or heavy.

✧ Fiber Profile
• Linen: breathable, strong, and naturally cooling
• Low elasticity for stable fabric and shape retention
• Excellent durability for long-lasting garments and textiles
• Crisp before washing, softer and more relaxed after washing
• Ideal for summer clothing, weaving, lacework, and heirloom home textiles

➤ IMPORTANT — Yarn Usage
This is an extra-fine lace yarn at approximately 2000 m per 100 g, so I do not recommend it for comfortable single-strand hand knitting.

Best used:
• Held double or in multiple strands for knitting and crochet
• For weaving, lacework, fine crochet, and textile work
• As a companion yarn to add linen structure and breathability
• For summer tops, cardigans, shawls, wraps, beachwear, table runners, and fine placemats

⋔ Recommended Yarn Usage
• Summer tops and cardigans
• Lightweight scarves and wraps
• Lacy shawls and beachwear
• Fine crochet work
• Weaving projects
• Table runners, placemats, and refined home textiles
• Natural-fiber blending projects

➤ Recommended Pairings From iDOKNiT
• Silk — adds drape, softness, and elegance
• Cotton — creates breathable everyday summer fabric
• Viscose or Tencel — adds smoothness and fluid movement
• Fine wool — adds elasticity for transitional garments
• Cashmere — softens the linen feel while keeping refined structure

✦ Recommended Needles / Hooks
• Best used held double or in multiple strands
• Using multiple strands: approx. 2.25–3.5 mm / US 1–4
• Crochet hook: approx. 2.25–3.5 mm / US B-1 to E-4
• Adjust based on strand count and desired fabric density
• Wash and dry your swatch before final sizing because linen relaxes after washing

⫯ Weaving Suitability
• Excellent for weaving
• Beautiful for scarves, wraps, towels, table runners, and fine placemats
• Strong and durable for long-lasting woven textiles
• Ideal for breathable, elegant, natural-fiber fabrics

⟳ Care Instructions
• Hand wash or gentle wash in cool water
• Use mild detergent
• Do not wring or twist
• Lay flat to dry and reshape while damp
• Iron on low setting if needed
• Linen softens beautifully with washing and wear

Formats: Balls (BY DEFAULT) or Cones (PLEASE PURCHASE)

FOR FULL-CONE SALES, THERE IS NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE FOR THE CONE. Yarn will remain on its original cone.

FOR YARN THAT IS NOT SOLD AS A FULL CONE BUT IN VARIOUS WOUND WEIGHTS, ALL YARN WILL BE WOUND INTO BALLS BY DEFAULT. CONES ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE YARN PRICE. However, we can wind it onto cones upon request. Cones may be purchased separately if you prefer continuous yardage for machine knitting or multi-strand projects. One color is typically wound per cone to maintain consistency.

PLEASE BUY CONES HERE

Unlike other shops where cone costs are often built into the yarn price—regardless of the format—our pricing is transparent. You pay only for the yarn itself. If you’d like your order wound on a cone, it can be purchased separately. This small additional charge also helps cover packaging differences and the actual cost of the cone. No hidden fees, no inflated markups—just honest, straightforward pricing.

Please Note

  • Please keep in mind: cone yarns, especially those made with extra fine merino or cashmere, may include a protective coating used for industrial knitting. A few gentle washes will allow the yarn to bloom, soften, and reveal its natural texture.
  • Colors are photographed in natural light but may appear slightly different depending on your screen.
  • FOR YARN THAT IS CUSTOM-WOUND, ±1–2g variation per 100g may occur due to winding.
  • Each ball/cone is wound with care and packed securely to ensure it reaches you in perfect condition.

Shipping & Order Processing

Orders are prepared in the order received and typically ship within 3–5 business days. Custom requests such as cone winding may require additional time. Multiple orders placed before shipment may be combined. Shipping refunds are not issued for combined orders.

We ship worldwide with tracking provided. As customs policies and tariffs can change frequently, any duties, taxes, or import fees are the sole responsibility of the buyer. These charges are not collected by us at the time of purchase but are typically paid to your local postal service or customs office upon the arrival of your package.
