WISH CASHMERE by Loro Piana is a luxury Italian lace-weight yarn made from 80% Merino Wool and 20% Cashmere. At approximately 1300m per 100g, this is a very fine mill yarn, best used in multiple strands for hand knitting, as a refined companion yarn, or for machine knitting and weaving. The merino gives structure, elasticity, and stitch stability, while the cashmere adds softness, warmth, and a more elevated hand-feel.
This yarn is especially valuable for knitters who enjoy building custom luxury fabrics. Held double, triple, or with mohair, silk, baby suri alpaca, paillettes, or another fine yarn, WISH CASHMERE creates soft, lightweight garments with excellent drape and a refined classic appearance. The natural cream / Greggio color is beautiful as-is for timeless neutral knitwear and can also be used for custom dye projects.

⚑ Why This Yarn Is Special
WISH CASHMERE is not a standard hand-knitting yarn in one strand. It is a fine Italian mill yarn that gives knitters control over the final fabric weight. One strand is extremely fine and best suited for machine knitting, weaving, lace accents, or as a companion yarn. For hand knitting garments, multiple strands are recommended.
The 80% merino / 20% cashmere blend is practical and luxurious at the same time. Merino helps the fabric keep its shape, while cashmere adds softness and warmth. This makes the yarn ideal for lightweight luxury sweaters, cardigans, shawls, scarves, and custom yarn blends where softness and structure both matter.
✧ Fiber Profile
• Merino Wool — elasticity, structure, stitch definition, and garment stability
• Cashmere — softness, warmth, and luxury hand-feel
• Combined Effect — refined lightweight fabric with softness, drape, and better shape retention than pure cashmere
➤ IMPORTANT — Yarn Usage
WISH CASHMERE works beautifully:
• In multiple strands for hand-knit garments
• As a companion yarn for softness and warmth
• For machine knitting
• For weaving
• Held with silk mohair for halo
• Held with baby suri alpaca for airy warmth
• Held with silk for extra drape
• Held with paillettes yarn for subtle sparkle
• Held with fine merino or cashmere for denser luxury fabric
For hand knitting, one strand is generally too fine for practical garments. Two strands are still very fine. Three to four strands are more realistic for lightweight sweaters and cardigans.

⚑ FOR YARN THAT IS NOT SOLD AS A FULL CONE BUT IN VARIOUS WOUND WEIGHTS, ALL YARN WILL BE WOUND INTO BALLS BY DEFAULT. CONES ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE YARN PRICE. PLEASE BUY CONES HERE
Unlike other shops where cone costs are often built into the yarn price—regardless of the format—our pricing is transparent. You pay only for the yarn itself. If you’d like your order wound on a cone, it can be purchased separately. This small additional charge also helps cover packaging differences and the actual cost of the cone. No hidden fees, no inflated markups—just honest, straightforward pricing.
Please Note
Please Note
- Please keep in mind: cone yarns, especially those made with extra fine merino or cashmere, may include a protective coating used for industrial knitting. A few gentle washes will allow the yarn to bloom, soften, and reveal its natural texture.
- Colors are photographed in natural light but may appear slightly different depending on your screen.
- FOR YARN THAT IS CUSTOM-WOUND, ±1–2g variation per 100g may occur due to winding.
- Each ball/cone is wound with care and packed securely to ensure it reaches you in perfect condition.
