A rare luxury yarn with natural elegance ✨ – SAMOA by Botto Poala, Italy is a superfine blend of merino wool and cotton, combining the softness and elasticity of merino with the durability and breathability of cotton. This lace-weight yarn is perfect for intricate lacework, lightweight garments, summer tops, and delicate babywear.

🧶 Product Specifications:
• Manufacturer: Botto Poala, Italy
• Article: SAMOA
• Fiber Content: 53% Merino Wool, 47% Cotton
• Yarn Weight: Super Fine (Lace)
• Yardage: 2400 meters / 100g (2625 yards / 3.52 oz)

✨ Texture & Feel:
Soft and elastic from merino, combined with the smooth, breathable comfort of cotton. The superfine construction makes it versatile for both lace and multi-strand knitting.

🧶 Recommended Uses:
Perfect for lace shawls, summer tops, lightweight sweaters, layering pieces, and babywear.

💡 Tips & Recommendations:
Due to its very fine nature, this yarn is best held together in multiple strands for hand knitting. Start with 3 strands for machine knitting or 5–6 strands for hand knitting to achieve the ideal balance of softness, structure, and drape.

🧷 Recommended Needles/Hooks:
• Lace single-strand: 1.5–2.0 mm (US 000–0)
• Three strands: 2.5–3.0 mm (US 1.5–3)
• Five–six strands: 3.5–4.5 mm (US 4–7)

🧵 Weaving Suitability:
Suitable for weft; not recommended for warp without reinforcement.

📏 Recommended Yarn Usage (5–6 strands held together):
• Short-Sleeve Top: 200–300g (4800–7200 m / 5250–7875 yd)
• Long-Sleeve Sweater: 350–450g (8400–10,800 m / 9187–11,800 yd)
• Baby Blanket: 250–350g (6000–8400 m / 6562–9187 yd)
• Shawl/Wrap: 150–200g (3600–4800 m / 3937–5250 yd)

🫧 Care Instructions:
• Hand wash gently in cold water with mild detergent
• Do not wring or twist
• Lay flat to dry out of direct sunlight

Formats: Balls (BY DEFAULT) or Cones (PLEASE PURCHASE)

FOR FULL-CONE SALES, THERE IS NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE FOR THE CONE. Yarn will remain on its original cone.

FOR YARN THAT IS NOT SOLD AS A FULL CONE BUT IN VARIOUS WOUND WEIGHTS, ALL YARN WILL BE WOUND INTO BALLS BY DEFAULT. CONES ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE YARN PRICE. However, we can wind it onto cones upon request. Cones may be purchased separately if you prefer continuous yardage for machine knitting or multi-strand projects. One color is typically wound per cone to maintain consistency.

PLEASE BUY CONES HERE

Unlike other shops where cone costs are often built into the yarn price—regardless of the format—our pricing is transparent. You pay only for the yarn itself. If you’d like your order wound on a cone, it can be purchased separately. This small additional charge also helps cover packaging differences and the actual cost of the cone. No hidden fees, no inflated markups—just honest, straightforward pricing.

Please Note

  • Please keep in mind: cone yarns, especially those made with extra fine merino or cashmere, may include a protective coating used for industrial knitting. A few gentle washes will allow the yarn to bloom, soften, and reveal its natural texture.
  • Colors are photographed in natural light but may appear slightly different depending on your screen.
  • FOR YARN THAT IS CUSTOM-WOUND, ±1–2g variation per 100g may occur due to winding.
  • Each ball/cone is wound with care and packed securely to ensure it reaches you in perfect condition.

Shipping & Order Processing

Orders are prepared in the order received and typically ship within 3–5 business days. Custom requests such as cone winding may require additional time. Multiple orders placed before shipment may be combined. Shipping refunds are not issued for combined orders.

These charges are not collected by us at the time of purchase but are typically paid to your local postal service or customs office upon the arrival of your package.
