Experience exceptional Italian craftsmanship with WLARIGA by MILLEFILI S.p.A., an exceptional luxury yarn featuring a modern volumized blown construction that combines 63% Brushed Baby Alpaca with a lightweight polyamide core. The result is an incredibly airy, lofty, and remarkably warm yarn with a beautiful cloud-like halo and outstanding softness. Comfortable to knit and even more beautiful after washing, WLARIGA is perfect for lightweight sweaters, cardigans, shawls, scarves, hats, and other cozy accessories that feel wonderfully warm without unnecessary weight.
Unlike traditional spun yarns, WLARIGA uses a modern volumized blown construction. ➤ My First Impressions:
The first thing that impressed me was just how enjoyable this yarn was to knit. I knitted my swatch using US Size 10 (6 mm) needles, and the yarn glided effortlessly on the needles from the very first row. It is soft, light, and extremely forgiving, making the knitting process feel relaxing rather than demanding.
After washing, the transformation became even more noticeable. The yarn bloomed beautifully, becoming loftier, fluffier, and even softer while maintaining a surprisingly lightweight fabric. Although the knitted swatch feels comfortably dense enough to provide excellent warmth, it never feels heavy or bulky.
I especially appreciate that WLARIGA is completely self-sufficient as a single yarn. It creates a beautiful fabric all on its own without needing to be combined with anything else. At the same time, if you're looking for an even warmer fabric or a little more drape, it pairs beautifully with fine merino, silk, or cashmere.
One of my favorite qualities is how forgiving this yarn is. The generous halo naturally softens minor irregularities, making your finished knitting look smooth and beautifully even. It was truly a pleasure to knit, and I would highly recommend it.
⌁ Texture & Feel
• Brushed Alpaca Bloom: A generous, fuzzy cloud-like halo that expands beautifully after washing.
• Volumized Blown Core: An open structural ply that builds high insulation without adding bulk or weight.
• Exceptionally Forgiving: Naturally evens out minor row inconsistencies and minor tension variations.
• Cozy Next-to-Skin Hand: Feels incredibly plush, luxurious, and soft against sensitive skin.
➤ Why This Yarn Is Different:
Unlike traditional spun yarns, WLARIGA uses a modern volumized blown construction. Instead of tightly twisting large amounts of fiber together, the brushed alpaca fibers are supported by a lightweight polyamide core, creating exceptional loft with very little weight. This innovative structure provides excellent insulation, remarkable softness, and a beautifully airy appearance while remaining easy and enjoyable to knit.
Its forgiving nature also makes it an excellent choice for knitters of all experience levels, helping create a polished fabric even when stitches aren't perfectly uniform.
➤ Fiber Profile:
Brushed Baby Alpaca (63%) provides exceptional softness, warmth, natural elasticity, and the beautiful fluffy halo that gives this yarn its luxurious appearance.
Polyamide (37%) forms the lightweight internal support that creates the blown structure, improving durability while allowing the yarn to remain incredibly lofty and lightweight.

Unlike other shops where cone costs are often built into the yarn price—regardless of the format—our pricing is transparent. You pay only for the yarn itself. Please Note
- Please keep in mind: cone yarns, especially those made with extra fine merino or cashmere, may include a protective coating used for industrial knitting. A few gentle washes will allow the yarn to bloom, soften, and reveal its natural texture.
- Colors are photographed in natural light but may appear slightly different depending on your screen.
- FOR YARN THAT IS CUSTOM-WOUND, ±1–2g variation per 100g may occur due to winding.
- Each ball/cone is wound with care and packed securely to ensure it reaches you in perfect condition.
