⌁ Texture & Feel
Rustic, warm, and full of character, DUNDAGA has a slightly rough countryside texture due to its natural processing and high lanolin content. It is not carbonized or chemically stripped, making it warmer, stronger, and more breathable. Sensitive skin may find it itchy at first, but the yarn softens beautifully with washing — revealing loft, bloom, and organic softness unique to Latvian wool.

➤ Recommended Uses
Perfect for:
• Shawls and wraps
• Beanies and hats
• Socks
• Warm sweaters and cardigans
• Mittens and rustic winter accessories
• Felting projects
• Weaving and tapestry work

⋔ Blending Recommendations
Pairs beautifully with:
• Soft merino — adds elasticity and softness
• Mohair and silk lace — adds halo and lightness
• Alpaca blends — smooths texture and increases warmth
• Cotton blends — modern, crisp contrast for structure
Use alone for traditional rustic charm or combine with a soft base yarn to reduce itchiness and enhance drape.

🪡 Recommended Needles & Hooks
• Knitting Needles: 3.5–5.0 mm (US 4–8), depending on desired density
• Crochet Hook: 4.0–5.5 mm (US G–I)
• Suggested Gauge: flexible — approximately DK to light Bulky depending on needle size

Estimated Yarn Usage
• Shawl: 200–300g
• Sweater (Size S–M): 300–400g
• Sweater (Size L): 400–500g
• Hat: 50–70g
• Socks: 80–100g
• Cowl or scarf: 150–250g

Weaving Recommendations
Excellent for both weaving and felting. Works beautifully as weft for rustic, textured fabrics. Can be used as warp with proper tension control due to lanolin-rich, strong fiber. Suggested Sett (EPI): 8–12 depending on desired density and drape.

Care Instructions

• Hand wash gently in warm water (below 30C/86F) with wool-friendly shampoo

• Skeins are individually weighed and priced accordingly
• Small variations in weight (±5g) are normal due to the artisanal process
