SCOOBYGUM by PECCI FILATI, Italy is a distinctive Italian lace yarn with a fresh, modern character and gentle elasticity. Made with Makò cotton and stretch support fiber, it combines the breathable comfort of cotton with a light, lively structure that feels soft, flexible, and easy to wear.

This yarn has a rounded cable-like structure that gives it gentle stretch and a smooth, even surface. It is not overly elastic, but it has enough flexibility to make the finished fabric more comfortable, forgiving, and wearable than many traditional cotton yarns. That makes SCOOBYGUM especially interesting for projects where a little stretch is helpful — such as children’s knitwear, fitted tops, soft cardigans, comfortable everyday garments, and knitwear that should move more easily with the body.

➤ Recommended Pairings From iDOKNiT
SCOOBYGUM works beautifully on its own, but it can also be combined with other fine yarns from iDOKNiT for different effects.

Silk
Adds drape, softness, and a refined glow while keeping the fabric elegant and light.

Mohair on Silk
Adds halo and softness for a more airy and textured result.

Fine Cotton or Linen
Creates a fresher summer fabric with more texture and breathability.

Fine Merino
Adds softness and body for transitional garments with a more balanced structure.

➤ Recommended Needles / Hooks
• Needle and hook size depends on whether the yarn is used alone or combined with another yarn
• Swatching is recommended to evaluate stretch, recovery, and final fabric structure

⟳ Care Instructions
• Hand wash gently in cold water with mild detergent
• Do not wring or twist
• Lay flat to dry
• Swatch before starting, especially for fitted garments

Formats: Balls (BY DEFAULT) or Cones (PLEASE PURCHASE)

FOR FULL-CONE SALES, THERE IS NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE FOR THE CONE. Yarn will remain on its original cone.

FOR YARN THAT IS NOT SOLD AS A FULL CONE BUT IN VARIOUS WOUND WEIGHTS, ALL YARN WILL BE WOUND INTO BALLS BY DEFAULT. CONES ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE YARN PRICE. However, we can wind it onto cones upon request. Cones may be purchased separately if you prefer continuous yardage for machine knitting or multi-strand projects. One color is typically wound per cone to maintain consistency.

PLEASE BUY CONES HERE

Unlike other shops where cone costs are often built into the yarn price—regardless of the format—our pricing is transparent. You pay only for the yarn itself. If you’d like your order wound on a cone, it can be purchased separately. This small additional charge also helps cover packaging differences and the actual cost of the cone. No hidden fees, no inflated markups—just honest, straightforward pricing.

Please Note

  • Please keep in mind: cone yarns, especially those made with extra fine merino or cashmere, may include a protective coating used for industrial knitting. A few gentle washes will allow the yarn to bloom, soften, and reveal its natural texture.
  • Colors are photographed in natural light but may appear slightly different depending on your screen.
  • FOR YARN THAT IS CUSTOM-WOUND, ±1–2g variation per 100g may occur due to winding.
  • Each ball/cone is wound with care and packed securely to ensure it reaches you in perfect condition.

Shipping & Order Processing

Orders are prepared in the order received and typically ship within 3–5 business days. Custom requests such as cone winding may require additional time. Multiple orders placed before shipment may be combined. Shipping refunds are not issued for combined orders.

We ship worldwide with tracking provided. As customs policies and tariffs can change frequently, any duties, taxes, or import fees are the sole responsibility of the buyer. These charges are not collected by us at the time of purchase but are typically paid to your local postal service or customs office upon the arrival of your package.
