My First Impressions
At the time of writing this listing, I haven't knitted a swatch from this yarn yet, so these are my first impressions from handling the cone.

The first thing that caught my attention is the beautiful chainette construction. It's a very well-made cotton cord that creates wonderful volume without adding unnecessary weight, making it feel much lighter than many traditional cotton yarns of a similar thickness.

The color is absolutely gorgeous—a rich, deep scarlet red with exceptional saturation. It has that luxurious, vibrant tone that immediately catches the eye and would make even the simplest project look elegant.

The yarn also feels surprisingly soft for 100% cotton. Because it isn't tightly twisted, it has a pleasant flexibility while still looking structured enough to create garments that should hold their shape beautifully.

For crochet, I would happily use it in a single strand. For knitting, I think this yarn offers plenty of flexibility depending on the project. I can easily imagine knitting summer tops, tunics, lightweight shawls, or openwork garments in a single strand with smaller needles, while holding it double would create a fuller fabric for sweaters or cardigans.

Based on my experience with premium cotton chainette yarns, I would expect the cord to relax and open just slightly after washing. It won't bloom the way wool does, of course, but it should soften a little while maintaining its beautiful structure.

FOR FULL-CONE SALES, THERE IS NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE FOR THE CONE. Yarn will remain on its original cone.

FOR YARN THAT IS NOT SOLD AS A FULL CONE BUT IN VARIOUS WOUND WEIGHTS, ALL YARN WILL BE WOUND INTO BALLS BY DEFAULT. CONES ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE YARN PRICE. However, we can wind it onto cones upon request. Cones may be purchased separately if you prefer continuous yardage for machine knitting or multi-strand projects. One color is typically wound per cone to maintain consistency.

PLEASE BUY CONES HERE

Unlike other shops where cone costs are often built into the yarn price—regardless of the format—our pricing is transparent. You pay only for the yarn itself. If you’d like your order wound on a cone, it can be purchased separately. This small additional charge also helps cover packaging differences and the actual cost of the cone. No hidden fees, no inflated markups—just honest, straightforward pricing.

Please Note

  • Please keep in mind: cone yarns, especially those made with extra fine merino or cashmere, may include a protective coating used for industrial knitting. A few gentle washes will allow the yarn to bloom, soften, and reveal its natural texture.
  • Colors are photographed in natural light but may appear slightly different depending on your screen.
  • FOR YARN THAT IS CUSTOM-WOUND, ±1–2g variation per 100g may occur due to winding.
  • Each ball/cone is wound with care and packed securely to ensure it reaches you in perfect condition.
