Imagine a fluffy mohair sweater that feels almost as light as a cloud!

That's the beauty of RI.GO ISABELLA, an extraordinary Italian yarn made with 80% Superkid Mohair and just 20% fine polyamide. With 200 meters per 100 grams, this wonderfully airy, voluminous yarn knits beautifully on its own — no additional strands needed!

Unlike mohair blends that rely on merino or other heavier fibers for body, ISABELLA gets its impressive fullness from the mohair itself. The fine supporting thread holds the fluffy fibers together, allowing you to create a soft, warm, cloudlike fabric without unnecessary weight.

I knitted my sample on US 8 (5 mm) needles, and I loved how light and airy it felt! After washing, the mohair bloomed even more, developing a beautiful, generous halo. A little gentle brushing can bring out additional fluffiness.

Knitting Suggestions
• Single Strand: ISABELLA has enough volume to create a beautifully fluffy sweater, cardigan, or scarf without additional yarn.
• My Tested Needles: US 8 (5 mm) produced a wonderfully airy fabric that became even fuller after washing.
• With Silk: Add one or two fine silk strands for a touch of natural sheen and a different drape.
• With Merino: Combine with fine merino for more body and a slightly heavier fabric.
• With Linen: Try a fine linen strand for an interesting contrast between crisp structure and fluffy mohair.
• Stitch Patterns: Simple stockinette, garter stitch, and uncomplicated textures let the spectacular mohair halo take center stage.

Needles & Care
• Needles: US 8 (5 mm) is my tested recommendation. Adjust according to your preferred fabric density.
• Care: Gently hand wash in cool water with detergent suitable for delicate animal fibers. Reshape and dry flat.
• Finishing: The mohair opens up beautifully after washing. For additional fluffiness, gently brush the dry fabric with a suitable mohair brush, testing a small area first.
• Swatching: Wash your sample before measuring gauge or planning your project.

Suggested Projects
• Cloud-Soft Sweaters: Enjoy the beautiful volume of a fluffy mohair sweater without the density of conventional worsted yarn.
• Lightweight Cardigans: A simple, relaxed cardigan lets ISABELLA's airy texture become the star of the design.
• Cozy Scarves & Wraps: Create generous, fluffy accessories that feel wonderfully light around your neck and shoulders.
• Textural Experiments: Combine ISABELLA with fine silk, merino, or linen to explore different weights, drape, and fabric textures.

Formats: Balls (BY DEFAULT) or Cones (PLEASE PURCHASE)

⚑ FOR FULL-CONE SALES, THERE IS NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE FOR THE CONE. Yarn will remain on its original cone.

⚑ FOR YARN THAT IS NOT SOLD AS A FULL CONE BUT IN VARIOUS WOUND WEIGHTS, ALL YARN WILL BE WOUND INTO BALLS BY DEFAULT. CONES ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE YARN PRICE. However, we can wind it onto cones upon request. Cones may be purchased separately if you prefer continuous yardage for machine knitting or multi-strand projects. One color is typically wound per cone to maintain consistency.

PLEASE BUY CONES HERE

Unlike other shops where cone costs are often built into the yarn price—regardless of the format—our pricing is transparent. You pay only for the yarn itself. If you’d like your order wound on a cone, it can be purchased separately. This small additional charge also helps cover packaging differences and the actual cost of the cone. No hidden fees, no inflated markups—just honest, straightforward pricing.

Please Note

  • Please keep in mind: cone yarns, especially those made with extra fine merino or cashmere, may include a protective coating used for industrial knitting. A few gentle washes will allow the yarn to bloom, soften, and reveal its natural texture.
  • Colors are photographed in natural light but may appear slightly different depending on your screen.
  • FOR YARN THAT IS CUSTOM-WOUND, ±1–2g variation per 100g may occur due to winding.
  • Each ball/cone is wound with care and packed securely to ensure it reaches you in perfect condition.

Shipping & Order Processing

Orders are prepared in the order received and typically ship within 3–5 business days. Custom requests such as cone winding may require additional time. Multiple orders placed before shipment may be combined. Shipping refunds are not issued for combined orders.

We ship worldwide with tracking provided. As customs policies and tariffs can change frequently, any duties, taxes, or import fees are the sole responsibility of the buyer. These charges are not collected by us at the time of purchase but are typically paid to your local postal service or customs office upon the arrival of your package.
