✦ Texture & Feel:
This is a super fashion yarn, highly sought after for its unique Grass Fur appearance, which results in a textured, soft, and luxurious fabric. The high Merino and Silk content ensures the yarn is warm yet incredibly soft, with a beautiful drape and subtle sheen.
➤ A Note from the Knitter
The sample was made with one thread using 2.5 mm needles. No shrinkage after washing, but the sample became even softer and puffier. This luxurious, high-quality yarn would also look very nice knitted with two threads and larger needles, size 6–8 mm or even larger, for a chunky, textured look.
✧ Recommended Use:
This yarn is ideal for unique garments and accessories where texture is key.
• Garments: Lightweight yet warm sweaters, cardigans, and vests that showcase the textured finish.
• Accessories: Scarves, cowls, and hats where the unique texture can be maximized.
• Stitch Patterns: Best used in simple patterns like stockinette or garter to let the "Grass Fur" effect be the main design feature.
✧ Knitting with Multiple Strands
• 2 Threads: Creates a DK/Light Worsted weight yarn with an approximate yardage of 250m(273yd) per 100g.
➤ Recommendations for Weaving:
The SILKGARDEN is an excellent choice for the weft in handwoven items. The unique "Grass Fur" texture will add rich, luxurious dimension and warmth to scarves, decorative pillows, or wall hangings. Its silk content also adds strength, making it a viable (though often textural) component for a low-tension warp.
➤ Recommended Needles & Hooks (Based on Single-Thread Knitting):
• For knitting with one thread (creating a Light Fingering weight), we recommend 2.5–3.5 mm (US 1.5–4) needles. The general gauge is 24–28 stitches per 4 inches (10 cm) in stockinette stitch. Use the smaller end of the range (2.5mm) for a denser, more structured fabric, and the larger end (3.5mm) for a softer, loftier drape.
• For crochet, use hooks in the range of 2.5–3.5 mm (C-2 to E-4).
⋔ Estimated Usage:
• Fine Shawl (Single Strand): 100–150g
• Sweater (2-Ply DK): 300–500g
⟳ Care Instructions:
• Hand wash gently in cool water with a detergent suitable for wool and silk.
• Lay flat to dry out of direct sunlight.
• Do not wring or twist.

⚑ FOR FULL-CONE SALES, THERE IS NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE FOR THE CONE. Yarn will remain on its original cone.
⚑ FOR YARN THAT IS NOT SOLD AS A FULL CONE BUT IN VARIOUS WOUND WEIGHTS, ALL YARN WILL BE WOUND INTO BALLS BY DEFAULT. CONES ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE YARN PRICE. However, we can wind it onto cones upon request. Cones may be purchased separately if you prefer continuous yardage for machine knitting or multi-strand projects. One color is typically wound per cone to maintain consistency.
PLEASE BUY CONES HERE
Unlike other shops where cone costs are often built into the yarn price—regardless of the format—our pricing is transparent. You pay only for the yarn itself. If you’d like your order wound on a cone, it can be purchased separately. This small additional charge also helps cover packaging differences and the actual cost of the cone. No hidden fees, no inflated markups—just honest, straightforward pricing.
Please Note
Please Note
- Please keep in mind: cone yarns, especially those made with extra fine merino or cashmere, may include a protective coating used for industrial knitting. A few gentle washes will allow the yarn to bloom, soften, and reveal its natural texture.
- Colors are photographed in natural light but may appear slightly different depending on your screen.
- FOR YARN THAT IS CUSTOM-WOUND, ±1–2g variation per 100g may occur due to winding.
- Each ball/cone is wound with care and packed securely to ensure it reaches you in perfect condition.
