➤ My First Impressions
PATRIK immediately feels substantial without being heavy. The cabled construction gives the strand a beautifully rounded shape that feels smooth and strong while remaining pleasantly soft in the hand. Unlike loosely spun yarns, the corded structure creates a yarn that glides effortlessly on the needles and produces incredibly neat stitches.
I knitted my sample using one strand on US 10 (6.0 mm) knitting needles, and I was impressed by how easily the yarn worked. The stitch definition is exceptional, making even simple stockinette look polished and elegant. The subtle multicolor effect adds natural depth without overpowering the design, giving the finished fabric a sophisticated, designer appearance.
After washing in cool water, the yarn relaxed beautifully without shrinking. The fabric softened noticeably, developed a delicate halo, and retained its excellent stitch definition. The combination of Merino and cotton creates a fabric that feels cozy yet breathable, making it comfortable across multiple seasons.
One of the things I appreciate most about PATRIK is its versatility. The Merino provides warmth and elasticity, the cotton contributes breathability and structure, while the polyamide quietly reinforces the yarn for long-lasting durability. Together they create a fabric that feels luxurious, practical, and timeless.
✦ Texture & Feel:
Soft, rounded, and beautifully structured with a refined cabled construction that produces outstanding stitch definition. The natural multicolor marl effect creates subtle movement throughout the fabric, while the Merino develops a delicate bloom after washing.
The fabric feels warm without excessive weight, breathable thanks to the cotton, and durable enough for garments designed to be worn and enjoyed for years.
➤ Recommended Uses:
Perfect for sweaters, cardigans, scarves, cowls, hats, textured pullovers, heritage knits, cable sweaters, Chanel-inspired jackets, cozy accessories, and sophisticated everyday knitwear.
✧ Tips & Recommendations:
The cabled construction is one of PATRIK's greatest strengths. It minimizes splitting, glides smoothly on the needles, and beautifully showcases textured stitches, cables, ribs, and simple stockinette.
Although the yarn may contain a light spinning wax from industrial production, this disappears after the first wash, allowing the Merino fibers to bloom naturally and reveal their true softness.
I highly recommend washing your finished project before wearing it to allow the fibers to fully relax and develop their beautiful natural hand.
Always knit and wash a swatch before beginning your project.
➤ Recommended Needles/Hooks:
• My sample: One strand on US 10 (6.0 mm) knitting needles
• Recommended Knitting Needles: US 9–11 (5.5–8.0 mm)
• Crochet Hook: Select according to desired fabric density
• Suitable for both hand knitting and machine knitting
• Always make a washed swatch before beginning your project.
➤ Weaving Suitability:
Excellent for weaving. The rounded corded construction produces woven fabrics with beautiful body, remarkable durability, and excellent stitch stability. Ideal for scarves, throws, outerwear fabrics, and home textiles where texture and resilience are equally important.
⋔ Recommended Yarn Usage:
Approximate requirements:
• Sweater (M): 400–500g
• Cardigan: 500–700g
• Shawl or Wrap: 200–300g
• Scarf: 150–250g
• Hat: Approximately 100g
Actual yarn requirements will vary depending on garment size, stitch pattern, gauge, and desired fabric density.

- Colors are photographed in natural light but may appear slightly different depending on your screen.
- FOR YARN THAT IS CUSTOM-WOUND, ±1–2g variation per 100g may occur due to winding.
