➤ My First Impressions
I knitted my sample using one strand on US 4 (3.5 mm) knitting needles, and I was genuinely impressed with the result. I first wanted to see how the yarn behaved on its own, and it created a beautifully lightweight, airy fabric that would be perfect for elegant summer knitwear. If you enjoy sheer beach cover-ups, lightweight tunics, openwork tops, or delicate summer T-shirts, I think knitting with a single strand creates a beautiful fabric with effortless drape and understated elegance.

For everyday garments, I would personally recommend working with two strands. It creates a fuller fabric while preserving the wonderful breathability, softness, and refined character of the linen and silk blend. This gives you a beautiful balance between lightweight comfort and everyday wearability.

I also see tremendous potential for machine knitting. I have seen stunning dresses and contemporary garments made from similar yarns, and if your knitting machine is suitable for this meterage, one strand can produce truly remarkable designer pieces with exceptional drape and a sophisticated appearance.

What impressed me most was the quality. The yarn was extremely easy to knit, the stitches formed beautifully, and the paillettes never became distracting or uncomfortable to work with. After washing, every single stitch relaxed and evened out perfectly. The fabric softened just as I expect from a premium linen and silk blend, while the edges remained crisp, clean, and remarkably elegant.

This is honestly one of my favorite linen blends that I have worked with. It combines the natural beauty of linen, the elegance of silk, and just the right amount of subtle sparkle to create garments that look sophisticated without ever feeling overdone. I highly recommend this yarn for anyone looking to create timeless summer knitwear with unmistakable Italian luxury.

✦ Texture & Feel:
Crisp yet refined with the signature breathability of linen, softened by luxurious silk and illuminated by delicate silver micro paillettes. The yarn has a natural matte appearance enhanced by subtle points of light that create movement without overwhelming the fabric.

If you appreciate understated luxury rather than obvious sparkle, SAINT TROPEZ is unforgettable. It produces elegant fabrics with beautiful drape, sophisticated texture, and timeless summer style.

➤ Recommended Uses:
Perfect for elegant summer tops, lightweight sweaters, cardigans, shells, tunics, wraps, shawls, resort wear, evening layers, sophisticated accessories, and luxury weaving projects where natural fibers meet refined sparkle.

✧ Tips & Recommendations:
Simple stitch patterns allow the linen texture and delicate paillettes to become the focal point of the fabric. Stockinette, garter stitch, simple ribs, and understated lace all showcase the elegant shimmer beautifully.

This yarn is equally beautiful knitted on its own or held together with other luxury fibers to introduce subtle sparkle, beautiful texture, and refined drape into your projects. Always knit and wash a swatch before making final gauge decisions.

➤ Recommended Needles/Hooks:
• Knitting Needles: US 1–3 (2.25–3.25 mm)
• Crochet Hook: B-1 to D-3 (2.25–3.25 mm)
• Adjust needle or hook size according to your desired fabric and drape
• Always make a washed swatch before beginning your project.

➤ Weaving Suitability:
Excellent for decorative weaving. SAINT TROPEZ is particularly beautiful as a weft yarn where the linen texture, silk, and delicate paillettes create fabrics with remarkable depth and elegant sparkle. Best suited for scarves, shawls, artistic panels, trims, and luxury woven accessories.

⋔ Recommended Yarn Usage:
Approximate requirements:
• Summer Top: 250–350g
• Lightweight Sweater (M): 350–450g
• Lightweight Cardigan: 400–550g
• Shawl or Wrap: 200–300g
• Scarf: 150–250g

Actual yarn requirements will vary depending on garment size, gauge, stitch pattern, and desired fabric density.

➤ Recommended Pairings From iDOKNiT:

One of the most exciting features of SAINT TROPEZ is how beautifully it combines with other natural fibers. The linen provides structure, the silk contributes graceful drape, and the delicate paillettes introduce an elegant shimmer that instantly transforms even simple yarns into sophisticated designer fabrics.

Formats: Balls (BY DEFAULT) or Cones (PLEASE PURCHASE)

FOR FULL-CONE SALES, THERE IS NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE FOR THE CONE. Yarn will remain on its original cone.

FOR YARN THAT IS NOT SOLD AS A FULL CONE BUT IN VARIOUS WOUND WEIGHTS, ALL YARN WILL BE WOUND INTO BALLS BY DEFAULT. CONES ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE YARN PRICE. However, we can wind it onto cones upon request. Cones may be purchased separately if you prefer continuous yardage for machine knitting or multi-strand projects. One color is typically wound per cone to maintain consistency.

PLEASE BUY CONES HERE

Unlike other shops where cone costs are often built into the yarn price—regardless of the format—our pricing is transparent. You pay only for the yarn itself. If you’d like your order wound on a cone, it can be purchased separately. This small additional charge also helps cover packaging differences and the actual cost of the cone. No hidden fees, no inflated markups—just honest, straightforward pricing.

Please Note

  • Please keep in mind: cone yarns, especially those made with extra fine merino or cashmere, may include a protective coating used for industrial knitting. A few gentle washes will allow the yarn to bloom, soften, and reveal its natural texture.
  • Colors are photographed in natural light but may appear slightly different depending on your screen.
  • FOR YARN THAT IS CUSTOM-WOUND, ±1–2g variation per 100g may occur due to winding.
  • Each ball/cone is wound with care and packed securely to ensure it reaches you in perfect condition.
