Cashmere Silk Yarn by Exclusive Italian Mill ROYAL 2/58 is an exceptionally refined luxury Italian extra-fine lace yarn made from 70% Cashmere and 30% Silk, with approximately 2900 meters per 100 g. This feather-light couture-grade yarn combines the softness and warmth of cashmere with the elegant sheen, fluidity, and luminous refinement of silk.

The result is a yarn that feels airy, delicate, smooth, and deeply luxurious, with a polished glow rather than a rustic finish. In Light Royal Blue, the yarn has an elegant luminous color presence that feels soft, sophisticated, and elevated without looking overly bright.

ROYAL 2/58 is especially appealing for makers who enjoy building custom fabrics through strand count, blending, machine knitting, weaving, or refined multi-strand hand knitting. Because this yarn is extremely fine, it gives extraordinary flexibility and control over the final fabric.

⚑ Why This Yarn Is Special
ROYAL 2/58 offers the kind of fineness and elegance that makes luxury Italian cone yarns so versatile and desirable.

Cashmere gives the yarn softness, warmth, and a cocooning feel, while silk adds light, drape, fluidity, and a subtle polished glow. Together, they create fabrics that feel refined, modern, elegant, and deeply luxurious.

Because of its ultra-fine construction, this yarn gives the maker complete control over the final fabric. It can become airy and ethereal in multiple strands, more wearable and structured when combined with other fibers, or beautifully precise in machine knitting and weaving.

This is an ideal yarn for makers who value softness, elegance, and textile flexibility rather than a fixed ready-made thickness.

✧ Fiber Profile
• Cashmere: softness, warmth, comfort, and luxury hand feel
• Silk: luminosity, drape, fluidity, and elegant sheen
• Blend: feather-light, refined, smooth, and sophisticated

➤ IMPORTANT — Yarn Usage
This is an ultra-fine lace yarn at approximately 2900 m per 100 g and is generally too fine for practical single-strand hand knitting.

Recommended use:
• Hand knitting in approximately 6–8 strands depending on desired fabric
• Machine knitting in fine gauges
• Luxury weaving and textile work
• Held together with mohair/silk, fine merino, cashmere, silk, alpaca, or other lace companions
• Multi-strand luxury sweaters, shawls, wraps, scarves, and layering pieces

This yarn is especially valuable for makers who enjoy building custom luxury fabrics with softness, sheen, warmth, and elegant drape.

➤ What This Yarn Does in Your Project
• Adds extraordinary softness and silk luminosity
• Creates elegant fluid drape
• Produces feather-light luxury fabrics
• Allows complete control over final fabric thickness
• Elevates other yarns when used as a companion thread
• Creates couture-style softness and refinement

⋔ Recommended Yarn Usage
Actual usage depends heavily on strand count and fabric style.

• Lace shawl or wrap: approx. 50–150 g
• Scarf or lightweight cowl: approx. 80–180 g
• Lightweight sweater or cardigan (XS–S): approx. 200–300 g
• Lightweight sweater or cardigan (M–L): approx. 300–400 g
• Lightweight sweater or cardigan (XL+): approx. 400–500 g
• Fine layering piece or tunic: approx. 350–550 g

➤ Recommended Pairings From iDOKNiT
ROYAL 2/58 is beautiful in multiple strands on its own, but it also pairs especially well with other luxury fibers.

• Mohair on Silk — adds halo, softness, and airy atmosphere
• Fine Merino — adds body and everyday wearability while preserving softness
• Cashmere Companions — deepen warmth and softness for cocooning fabrics
• Smooth Silk Yarns — enhance drape and elegance for fluid garments
• Fine Alpaca — adds warmth and atmospheric softness

These pairings make ROYAL 2/58 especially appealing to makers who enjoy building custom fabrics with softness, sheen, warmth, and depth.

Formats: Balls (BY DEFAULT) or Cones (PLEASE PURCHASE)

FOR FULL-CONE SALES, THERE IS NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE FOR THE CONE. Yarn will remain on its original cone.

FOR YARN THAT IS NOT SOLD AS A FULL CONE BUT IN VARIOUS WOUND WEIGHTS, ALL YARN WILL BE WOUND INTO BALLS BY DEFAULT. CONES ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE YARN PRICE. However, we can wind it onto cones upon request. Cones may be purchased separately if you prefer continuous yardage for machine knitting or multi-strand projects. One color is typically wound per cone to maintain consistency.

PLEASE BUY CONES HERE

Unlike other shops where cone costs are often built into the yarn price—regardless of the format—our pricing is transparent. You pay only for the yarn itself. If you’d like your order wound on a cone, it can be purchased separately. This small additional charge also helps cover packaging differences and the actual cost of the cone. No hidden fees, no inflated markups—just honest, straightforward pricing.

Please Note

  • Please keep in mind: cone yarns, especially those made with extra fine merino or cashmere, may include a protective coating used for industrial knitting. A few gentle washes will allow the yarn to bloom, soften, and reveal its natural texture.
  • Colors are photographed in natural light but may appear slightly different depending on your screen.
  • FOR YARN THAT IS CUSTOM-WOUND, ±1–2g variation per 100g may occur due to winding.
  • Each ball/cone is wound with care and packed securely to ensure it reaches you in perfect condition.

Shipping & Order Processing

Orders are prepared in the order received and typically ship within 3–5 business days. Custom requests such as cone winding may require additional time. Multiple orders placed before shipment may be combined. Shipping refunds are not issued for combined orders.

We ship worldwide with tracking provided. As customs policies and tariffs can change frequently, any duties, taxes, or import fees are the sole responsibility of the buyer. These charges are not collected by us at the time of purchase but are typically paid to your local postal service or customs office upon the arrival of your package.
