SESIA VIVIENNE is one of the best-known luxury mohair-silk yarns produced in Italy. Made from 70% Super Kid Mohair and 30% Silk, it combines extraordinary softness, elegant drape, and a beautiful airy halo that has made mohair-silk blends a favorite among knitters worldwide.
Unlike many mohair yarns that are used only as companion strands, VIVIENNE performs beautifully on its own. The silk core provides strength and structure, while the Super Kid Mohair creates a lightweight cloud-like halo that blooms after washing and gives finished garments their signature luxury appearance.
One of the qualities knitters appreciate most about VIVIENNE is its versatility. It can be worked as a single strand for delicate and elegant fabrics, held double for more substantial garments, or combined with merino, cashmere, alpaca, silk, or other luxury fibers to add softness, warmth, and halo without excessive weight.
This is a genuine Italian mill yarn from SESIA, one of Italy's most respected spinning mills, and limited quantities may not be available again once sold out.

⋔ Swatch & Knitting Notes
VIVIENNE creates the classic luxury mohair appearance many knitters seek. The fabric remains surprisingly lightweight while providing excellent warmth thanks to the insulating mohair halo.
The silk content gives the yarn better stitch definition and stability than many traditional brushed mohair yarns, while maintaining beautiful drape and movement.
After washing, the halo develops further, creating an even softer and more luxurious fabric.

⚑ Why This Yarn Is Special
VIVIENNE combines two of the most desirable luxury fibers in knitting.
Super Kid Mohair contributes warmth, softness, volume, and the characteristic halo that makes garments appear light and sophisticated.
Silk adds strength, sheen, drape, and stability, allowing the yarn to perform beautifully both alone and combined with other fibers.
Because of its exceptional meterage, garments remain remarkably lightweight while still providing warmth and comfort.
The result is the type of fabric commonly associated with luxury designer knitwear.

⚑ FOR YARN THAT IS NOT SOLD AS A FULL CONE BUT IN VARIOUS WOUND WEIGHTS, ALL YARN WILL BE WOUND INTO BALLS BY DEFAULT. CONES ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE YARN PRICE. One color is typically wound per cone to maintain consistency.
PLEASE BUY CONES HERE
Unlike other shops where cone costs are often built into the yarn price—regardless of the format—our pricing is transparent. You pay only for the yarn itself. If you’d like your order wound on a cone, it can be purchased separately. This small additional charge also helps cover packaging differences and the actual cost of the cone. No hidden fees, no inflated markups—just honest, straightforward pricing.
Please Note
Please Note
- Please keep in mind: cone yarns, especially those made with extra fine merino or cashmere, may include a protective coating used for industrial knitting. A few gentle washes will allow the yarn to bloom, soften, and reveal its natural texture.
- Colors are photographed in natural light but may appear slightly different depending on your screen.
- FOR YARN THAT IS CUSTOM-WOUND, ±1–2g variation per 100g may occur due to winding.
- Each ball/cone is wound with care and packed securely to ensure it reaches you in perfect condition.
