The elegance of cashmere and silk with the distinctive texture of bouclé!

This Italian bouclé yarn by ZEGNA BARUFFA combines 80% cashmere and 20% silk in a fine, softly looped construction. Its delicate loops create a textured, dimensional surface that gives even simple knitted fabric a distinctive appearance without elaborate stitch patterns.

With 300 meters per 100 grams, this cashmere-rich yarn offers an interesting combination of lightness, warmth, and texture. Knit it alone for soft, comfortable garments with a gently textured surface, or pair it with a smooth yarn to introduce bouclé detail into a different fabric. It is particularly appealing for knitwear where the character of the yarn becomes part of the design.

Knitting Suggestions
• 1 Strand: 300m/100g — Sport / Light DK range. Try US 3–5 (3.25–3.75 mm) for lightweight sweaters, cardigans, and scarves.
• 2 Strands: Approximately 150m/100g equivalent when held together — creates a thicker, fuller fabric with more prominent bouclé texture. Choose needle size after swatching.
• Companion Yarn: Combine with smooth merino, cashmere, or silk to introduce additional texture while retaining the character of the companion yarn.
• Stitch Patterns: Stockinette and garter stitch allow the bouclé loops to stand out. Intricate cables and delicate lace patterns may be less visible in the textured fabric.

Needles & Care
• Care: Gently hand wash in cool water, maximum 30°C (86°F), using a cashmere-friendly detergent. Do not rub, wring, or twist. Reshape and dry flat.
• Swatch: Wash and dry your sample before measuring gauge and evaluating the final softness, drape, and appearance of the bouclé texture.

Suggested Projects
An elegant cashmere-silk cardigan, relaxed sweater, or lightweight textured vest would make beautiful use of this yarn. Its decorative loops also lend themselves to scarves, cowls, and wraps, especially in simple designs that let the texture take center stage.

For a more understated effect, try incorporating it into cuffs, collars, or decorative panels alongside a smooth yarn. This allows you to introduce the distinctive bouclé texture without using it throughout the entire garment.

Formats: Balls (BY DEFAULT) or Cones (PLEASE PURCHASE)

⚑ FOR FULL-CONE SALES, THERE IS NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE FOR THE CONE. Yarn will remain on its original cone.

⚑ FOR YARN THAT IS NOT SOLD AS A FULL CONE BUT IN VARIOUS WOUND WEIGHTS, ALL YARN WILL BE WOUND INTO BALLS BY DEFAULT. CONES ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE YARN PRICE. However, we can wind it onto cones upon request. Cones may be purchased separately if you prefer continuous yardage for machine knitting or multi-strand projects. One color is typically wound per cone to maintain consistency.

PLEASE BUY CONES HERE

Unlike other shops where cone costs are often built into the yarn price—regardless of the format—our pricing is transparent. You pay only for the yarn itself. If you’d like your order wound on a cone, it can be purchased separately. This small additional charge also helps cover packaging differences and the actual cost of the cone. No hidden fees, no inflated markups—just honest, straightforward pricing.

Please Note

  • Please keep in mind: cone yarns, especially those made with extra fine merino or cashmere, may include a protective coating used for industrial knitting. A few gentle washes will allow the yarn to bloom, soften, and reveal its natural texture.
  • Colors are photographed in natural light but may appear slightly different depending on your screen.
  • FOR YARN THAT IS CUSTOM-WOUND, ±1–2g variation per 100g may occur due to winding.
  • Each ball/cone is wound with care and packed securely to ensure it reaches you in perfect condition.

Shipping & Order Processing

Orders are prepared in the order received and typically ship within 3–5 business days. Custom requests such as cone winding may require additional time. Multiple orders placed before shipment may be combined. Shipping refunds are not issued for combined orders.

We ship worldwide with tracking provided. As customs policies and tariffs can change frequently, any duties, taxes, or import fees are the sole responsibility of the buyer. These charges are not collected by us at the time of purchase but are typically paid to your local postal service or customs office upon the arrival of your package.
